  7.      Picture yourself at Circus Circus in Las Vegas.  You're in the casino
  8. surrounded by the ultimate decadence the 90s can offer -- tiffany stalkers,
  9. flying wallendas, tiger-whipping sigfrieds, crooning newtons, dead elvises.
  10. You place the biggest bet at the Craps table any citizen of your state has
  11. ever laid down and the smarmy, 21-year-old croupier says, "I'm sorry, but
  12. you can't Place that bet.  The point is already 8."  The locals all snicker
  13. into their boilermakers.

  15.      Imagine your embarrassment.  If only you had honed your gambling skills
  16. with VIDEO CRAPS before you made that once in a lifetime trip to Sin City!
  17.  
  18.      VIDEO CRAPS is a direct simulation of the noble game of Craps, the Game
  19. of Despots.  It has most of the features of the game as played in Vegas but
  20. without the severe monetary loss that almost always accompanies the real
  21. thing.  You start out with $5000 in imaginary cash and it's up to you (and
  22. the roll of the simulated dice) to see how much imaginary loot you end up
  23. with.  All of the strategy that the high rollers use is available to you.

  25.      But what if you don't know the game?  No problemo.  VIDEO CRAPS has the
  26. rules for Craps listed alongside the Craps table on screen at all times.
  27. The six pages of instructions can be flipped through as you play the game so
  28. you never have to ask "What do I do now?"  The program doesn't allow you to
  29. make an illegal play, and if you do something, uh, unwise, there are no
  30. smirking locals around -- unless of course, you invite some over.

  32.     The only keys you have to press during the game are:

  34.  N - takes you to the next page of instructions.
  35.  
  36.  L - takes you to the previous page of instructions.
  37.  
  38.  Q - takes you to LOADSTAR 128 if there's a disk in drive 8.
  39.  
  40.  P - makes the bet that you will PASS (that is, roll 7 or 11 on the
  41.      COME-OUT ROLL or make your POINT).
  42.  
  43.  D - makes the bet that you will NOT PASS.
  44.  
  45.  B - makes another bet.
  46.  
  47.  R - rolls the dice.
  48.  
  49.  NUMBER KEYS - sets the amount of your bet(s).  You may bet any amount
  50.                from $2 to $2000 on any single bet.
  51.  
  52.      VIDEO CRAPS is for fun.  It will work on any drive but it only returns
  53. to LOADSTAR 128 on drive 8.  Have fun learning about this ancient game of
  54. dice BEFORE you go to Vegas, Atlantic City or a downtown riverboat where
  55. they play for blood and money.
