  6.     A couple of months ago, I found a
  7. "toy" video camera on the close-out
  8. shelves at WalMart, for just $45. Now,
  9. over the years, I have lost or broken
  10. over a thousand dollars worth of video
  11. cameras, and have not had one at all
  12. for six years. So I got the little
  13. thingy.

  15.     It is small, fitting in my pocket,
  16. and records 320x240 pixels at 6 to 10
  17. frames a second (depending on the
  18. light). The result, when put on a
  19. normal television screen, is much like
  20. an old 8mm movie. But it is perfect
  21. for me.

  23.     First of all, there are no moving
  24. parts to break. My investment is
  25. small. And the frames are perfect for
  26. the C-64! My LMV (Loadstar MoVie)
  27. files have 128x96 pixels (high-res) --
  28. so who needs much more resolution?

  30.     Getting the images into the C-64
  31. requires a lot of massaging using my
  32. Windows PC and an video toaster/editor
  33. called Ulead Studio. Next month, I
  34. will have some C-64 editing software
  35. and movie clips so you can play with
  36. the LMV format. But for now, here is
  37. one more clip for your enjoyment.

  39.     The Sunday after getting my new
  40. camera, we went to the monthly
  41. Singspiration gathering at the Baptist
  42. Church. Afterwards, we shared a great
  43. meal. And across the table from me was
  44. little Kallie Cathcart, being ever so
  45. cute. I caught her on video, and
  46. worked the images to create a "Magic
  47. Picture," not unlike the photographs
  48. in Harry Potter's wizarding world.
