- A Demo by Tony Crowther
- and Ben Daglish
-
- Text by Fender Tucker
-
-
- I can hear the catcalls now. "Hey,
- this thing is ancient! Everybody and
- his brother has seen this demo!"
-
- Well, maybe so. I think it was the
- first "demo" I ever saw, so it must
- have come out in 1985 or thereabouts.
- I always thought that Jim Butterfield
- had something to do with it but it has
- credits that say it's by Tony Crowther
- and Ben Daglish of Abcd Inc.
-
- But I don't care if it is an
- oldie; it's still a darn goodie. It's
- also one of the few demos ever made
- that has a plot. Just boot it up and
- sit back and watch the action. The
- music is pretty good, too.
-
- It's amazing that all of those
- graphics and sprites can fit into a
- lttle 39-block program. It was 47
- blocks until I crunched it with
- Action Replay's SUPER-CRUNCH. It
- doesn't return to LOADSTAR; in fact
- it automatically returns to BASIC
- when done.
-
- I know all of you newcomers to
- 8-bit computing are going to
- appreciate the graphics and music
- that was far ahead of its time back
- in the 80s, and I hope you veterans
- get a nostalgic kick out of seeing it
- again. Roger Detaille, our Geos man
- in Canada, sent it to me last week.
- I know I have it somewhere at home
- but I doubt if I could have found it.
- Thanks, Roger.
