  9. into a hole, and a wooden ladder
  10. disappears down into another hole. To
  11. the north is a large cast-iron bucket
  12. attached to a steel cable with a
  13. complex pulley arrangement that
  14. apparently can be turned with a crank,
  15. which would lift the bucket through the
  16. roof.

  56. at a time like THIS? (She said.)

  62. twists, you find that the way is
  63. blocked by a rockfall. If you had a
  64. backhoe or even a forklift you might

  66. don't. You return to the room filled
  67. with ore carts.
