Buckle up!
This issue of LOADSTAR is taking off
on a star journey guaranteed to dazzle
your eyes and expand your mind.
LOADSTAR begins the voyage with a
new Commander at the helm, a grizzled
veteran just home from the space wars,
still prone to computer-assisted
teleports of the imagination. His
name: Greg Malone, author of such
games as 'MINIT MAN' from Penguin
Software and, most recently, 'MOEBIUS'
from Origin Systems.
Not that games are Greg's only
forte', mind you. He brings with him
a vision of a disk magazine loaded
with stunning graphics as well as
programs and articles that are of wide
interest and common appeal. Also on
his itinerary: a renewed emphasis on
educational material and applications
that establish the "state-of-the-
art".
To accompany the Commander on the
journey is the LOADSTAR crew, a party
of skilled adventurers and artisans
dedicated to pushing the limits of the
LOADSTAR medium. Working together,
Commander and crew will produce and
enhance the very fabric of what you
will see and hear in the months to
come.
Be forewarned: this issue is only
the beginning of an odyssey that will
see LOADSTAR rocket to new heights.
We hope you've grabbed a bite to eat.
None of us will be home in time for
supper.
In This Issue
-------------
You want graphics? You got graphics!
Where? Take note of 'NATURE QUEST', a
new LOADSTAR feature. Jacques
Cousteau and PBS, watch out!
Likewise, Gallerie d'Art features
unique works of Rene' Magritte...a
sampling that just might send you
running down to your local library to
learn more about the man and his art.
You gamers won't be dissatisfied
either... For a change of pace, check
out 'Dungeon of the Dragon', a
relatively simple but uniquely
humorous take-off on dungeon
adventuring.
Last but not least, we've got an
application that will give aid to
those of us who need a little
organization in our life. Check out
'File Cabinet', an easy to use data
base program that will help you keep
up with your information.
Of course, there's much more! Take
a good look and above all else, enjoy!
By the way, you've been listening to
J.S. Bach's "Prelude in Bb Major"
transcribed by Joe Garrett using his
Songsmith Music Editor.
