SPACEDOG TRAINER for the C128
by
Bruce Jaeger
Exploring Graphics and Sound on the
C-128
PowerPlay Magazine, Feb./March '86
Page 100
Once upon a time, science fiction
writers portrayed the Asteroid Belt as
the rocky shoals of space, certain
death for any ship straying there.
Now, these stony planetoids hold the
promise of incredible mineral wealth.
Care to get in on the ground floor?
Bruce Jaeger's SPACEDOG TRAINER
lets you imagine just that--- it's a
flight simulator for rocket pilots.
Your object: take off from and return
to one of two asteroid spaceports.
While there is some debris to elude,
the main focus is on flying. You
control your craft with a joystick
plugged into Port 1. The joystick
only controls directional thrusters
which determine the way the ship
points; the fire button controls the
main thrust.
Once moving, you will continue in
that direction until the same amount
of thrust is applied in the opposite
direction. SPACEDOG TRAINER also
adds complications by limiting your
fuel and letting the asteroid's weak
gravity alter your flight path.
True, the complications are
challenging, but for those with the
right stuff, the sky's the limit.
