Questions and Answers
I am new to the computer world!!!
I've always been interested in
computers but couldn't decide which
one to purchase; that is until
Commodore came out with the C-128. I
now own the complete set; C-128,
1571, 1902, and the 803 printer.
This is great; now if someone would
just get busy and turn out the
promised software (vaporware so far).
I am not into games so here I am;
writing my first request TO YOU - - -
LOADSTAR.
I have this great machine which has
an even better disk drive!!! I have
also invested in a years worth of
LOADSTAR (the first one is great), I
only hope that I'll be able to
utilize the C-128 and 1571 that I
spent $1300.00 for. HOW ABOUT IT
GUYS?

Secondly, being new to your disk I
find myself wondering about the
address label. Very unlike any other
subscription I've ever seen. Most
magazines have a lot of codes
included which also list the date
that your subscription expires. Yours
doesn't yet it does appear to be a
computer printout.

One last thing? How does a guy go
about getting a list of local phone
numbers to the different BBS's and
nearest compuserves, etc.

I am a new subscriber and would
like to obtain a back listing of
previous Loadstar disks prior to
issue #17. Can you help me?

I like your data on the disk except
that there are no instructions
available on the disk. I subscribe to
Power/Play, but some of your programs
are not in the magazine and if all
the programs that required special
instructions had them on the disk it
would save having to keep the excess
paper and make it more convenient.

Using LOADSTAR #15 I got a printout
of the Steinman instructions. These
are presented in two columns over
about seven pages. This is
acceptable except that the first
column ends at the top of page 2 and
is continued on the top right-hand
side of page 1. This continues
throughout the whole printout. I
thought it was a "glitch" in this
particular program, but I got the same
format when I printed out the
Steinman Template on LOADSTER #17.
Am I doing something wrong?

From: D.A.Versetto 60608
G'day,
I am considering buying a disk
backup program and have been reading
a number of ads and articles, both in
magazines and in Loadstar. I was
about to order one when I noticed
that in the Diskmaker ad they offer a
special version for the Indus GT
drive. I happen to own an Indus GT,
so this cought my attention, but it
also started me wondering about
something. Many of the ads note that
their product works with the 1541
disk drive and some also mention the
MSD drive. None, with the exeption of
Diskmaker, mention the Indus GT. I
had always assumed that my drive
supported all Commodore software, but
if it does then why a special version
of Diskmaker? Am I wrong in thinking
that I can run any Commodore disk in
my drive? If so, do you know of any
other software that it won't run?
I am pretty new to computing and
I'm trying to learn as much about my
equipment as possible. If anyone can
answer these questions I would be
very grateful.
Yours truly,
D.A. Versetto
