HELP!!!
From Broadway 53963
This is being written in an attempt
to get information on how to operate
my equipment. I live in an area where
it is difficult to find someone to
visit with about my hardware and the
dealer has locked his door.
I have purchased a Commodore 64,
a 1541 disk drive, a 1702 monitor,
a Panasonic KX-P1090 printer, and a
Turboprint/GT interface
I use Paperclip with Spell Pack for
my word processor. I am having
difficulty getting the printer to
print. When I write to Commodore or
Panasonic or Telesys (Turboprint/Gt),
they all pass the buck to the other
people. Where can I talk to someone
who can help me?
I have not been in computing very
long and am becoming discouraged by
people who only want to sell. HELP!

Would anyone along the network be
interested in adding items to the
PRINT SHOP Graphics Library. The
nifty Broderbund Software itself
is a dream to work with. The results
are formidable. Using the bit map
graphic editor provided, I have
designed several graphics. Are these
transferable to others...or am I
barking up the wrong tree? If so, I
would appreciate others who own the
PRINT SHOP to send me their
originally designed graphics and I
will send them mine.
I am interested in receiving as much
information as possible about such
large database operations as COMPU-
SERVE, the SOURCE and any other. I am
ready to buy a modem, so I will need
good insider tips on which to
purchase. Will it matter if it is
asynch or bisynch...will I need a
standard 'ma bell' phone to hook up
to...what kind of money are we
talking about for the modem and a
fairly regular chat along the
network?
Thank you.

I don't know about the "BANK STREET
WRITER", but as far as "PRINT SHOP"
is concerned, I was in the same
position as you are. My blooming
dealer, where I bought the machine,
informed me that the MPS-802 cannot
operate in hi-res mode. Since then I
got a Star Gemini SG-10 (fitted
locally, i.e. in Holland). Now the
"PRINT SHOP" works like a dream
except for some weak vertical lines
generated by "PRINT SHOP".

The best wordprocessor I know of is
"VIZAWRITE", which is fully
compatible with the integrated
spreadsheet/data base/graphics
program "VIZASTAR." Together these
two programs form a powerful
combination in solving current
practical problems. I have little
experience with printers (except for
problems), but if I were you, I would
go with the Star Gemini SG-10c.
