AMAZON is one in a series of
graphic adventure games from TRILLIUM.
AMAZON was written by Michael
Crichton, world famous author and
filmmaker. He is best known for his
novels 'The Andromeda Strain', 'The
Terminal Man', and for his films
'Coma', and 'The Great Train Robbery'.
You start your adventure in the
Communications Control Room at
National Satellite Resource
Technology, a top-secret, high-tech
research consulting firm. You watch
your screen as the dreadful news
arrives. The expedition your were
hired to help has perished. After
briefing, you find your friend Paco,
an intelligent, witty, and sometimes
rude parrot. You proceed to search for
the lost city of Chak where you are to
find the emeralds needed for national
defense purposes. You must avoid such
things as jaguars, snakes, alligators,
volcanos, and cannibals on your way to
preserving world peace.
The graphics are state-of-the-art
and there are a few special effects
added to liven up the game. You may
be asked to re-insert disk A of which
there are four (two double sided).
You will then control the action with
your joystick. The action scenes are
quite simple, but they serve to add
some variety to the game.
Unlike other popular adventure
games, AMAZON includes a hint book and
word list. Paco will supply valuable
information if he feels like giving
it. The special computer which your
character has will also help you
complete the game. I strongly
recommend AMAZON for anyone who enjoys
adventure games. It will challenge
even the expert adventurer on level
three.
