  6. This Read Me file contains the latest information for the IBM
  7. PerfectPhoto Version 1.0.
  8.  
  9. 0. Installation
  10.  
  11. Perform the following steps to install.
  12.  
  13. 1. Insert PerfectPhoto CD in CDROM Drive
  14. 2. If Autorun feature is enabled, then the installation process
  15. starts automatically. Otherwise do:
  16. 1. Select "Start" on your desktop
  17. 2. Select "Run"
  18. 3. Type x:\setup.exe in the "Open field" and click OK to
  19. start the install process (x is your CD-ROM drive letter).  
  20.  
  21. 1. Components to Install
  22.  
  23. You can select the following program components from the Select
  24. Components dialog during installation:
  25.  
  26.     Program Files
  27.     Samples
  28.     Retouch Navigation
  29.     Online Document
  30.     Templates
  31.     File Transfer Program
  32.  
  33. Select Retouch Navigation and install it if you want to execute Retouch
  34. Navigation from Image Editor. If File Transfer Program is not shown in 
  35. the list of components, use the scrollbar and display the hidden
  36. portion of the list.

  38. 2. Album Explorer Sample Album
  39.  
  40. The Album Explorer sample album is stored in the following location:
  41.  
  42.     C:\Program Files\IBM PerfectPhoto\data\album
  43.  
  44. ("C:\Program Files\IBM PerfectPhoto" is the default location. If you
  45. have installed "IBM PerfectPhoto" in a different location, use that
  46. location instead of the default.) To open the sample album, from
  47. Album Explorer move the cursor on [File] and [Open]; then click on
  48. [Album]. Specify the Album location as
  49.  "C:\Program Files\IBM PerfectPhoto\data\album". Select PerfectPhoto
  50. Sample Album from the list of albums and click Open.
  51.  
  52. 3. Album Explorer "Reload All Image" Function
  53.  
  54. All the image thumbnails in an album are recreated if
  55. [View] -> [Reload all image] is selected from the menu or if the F5
  56. function key is pressed. This function is useful if the thumbnails
  57. are not displayed properly. Use this function to redisplay the
  58. thumbnails.

  60. 4. Album Explorer "Reload Updated Images" Function
  61.  
  62. Old image thumbnails are recreated if [View] -> [Reload updated
  63. images] is selected from the menu or if the [F5] key is pressed with the
  64. <Ctrl> key held down. This function is useful if an image registered
  65. in an album is updated by another application.  Use this function to
  66. update the image thumbnail.

  68. 5. Digital Gallery Samples
  69.  
  70. The digital gallery samples, flower.dpg and mountain.dpg, are stored in
  71. the following location:
  72.  
  73.     C:\Program Files\IBM PerfectPhoto\sample\gallery
  74.  
  75. ("C:\Program Files\IBM PerfectPhoto" is the default location. If you
  76. have installed "IBM PerfectPhoto" in a different location, use that
  77. location instead of the default.) Double-click on these files to
  78. start Gallery Editor. Select [File] and [Start Digital Gallery] from the
  79. menu and enjoy the digital gallery. You can also make a screen saver
  80. from these files.  Refer to the User's Guide for more details on how to
  81. create a screen saver.

  83. 6. Digital Gallery Sound Samples
  84.  
  85. The digital gallery background music samples are stored in the
  86. following location:
  87.  
  88.     C:\Program Files\IBM PerfectPhoto\sample\bgm
  89.  
  90. ("C:\Program Files\IBM PerfectPhoto" is the default location. If you
  91. have installed "IBM PerfectPhoto" in a different location, use that
  92. location instead of the default.)

  94. The digital gallery WAV file samples are stored in the following
  95. location:
  96.  
  97.     C:\Program Files\IBM PerfectPhoto\sample\soundclip
  98.  
  99. ("C:\Program Files\IBM PerfectPhoto" is the default location. If you
  100. have installed "IBM PerfectPhoto" in a different location, use that
  101. location instead of the default.)

  103. 7. How to view the Tutorial
  104.  
  105. The tutorial needs the Macromedia Flash Plugin installed in the
  106. browser to display properly. If your browser does not have the
  107. Flash plugin installed, please download and install the plugin.
  108. (Some browsers may download and install automatically.)
  109.
