HOW TO ORDER A REGISTERED COPY OF Q-BLUE
If you want to buy a registered copy of Q-Blue, there are two pieces of
information that you must provide, along with the money. The first is
the postal address to which I should send a disk with your copy on it.
Please make sure that the address is complete and CLEARLY LEGIBLE,
especially if it is outside the United States of America. The other
piece of information is the name that you wish the copy to be registered
under. Each registered copy, when you select the "About" option, shows
its serial number and the name of its owner -- I need to know what name
to display there. There are some other questions below which I hope you
will answer, about what kind of Amiga you will be using Q-Blue on, but
they are optional.
In the past, there were two levels of registration available: "basic"
and "with prepaid upgrades". Basic registration has always cost $20.
The "prepaid upgrades" option SHOULD NOT BE USED any more, because of
the very strong likelihood that there will be no more upgrades after
this version. A single upgrade, if you are already registered for an
older version and did not use the prepaid upgrades option, is $3. In
some cases it may be possible to send an upgrade by uuencoded email, at
no cost to you. If sending such a small amount is very difficult or
expensive for you, as may be the case when ordering from overseas, I
may consider sending a disk at no charge. Email me at kie@pacbell.net
if you want to receive a uuencoded upgrade.
Q-Blue now has a registration agent for continental Europe. If you live
on that side of the planet, you can now pay in any of the following
currencies (and maybe a few others), in whatever amount is equivalent to
twenty US dollars ($20) at current exchange rates:
HRK (Croatia) BEF (Belgium)
SIT (Slovenia) NLG (Netherlands)
DEM (Germany) DKK (Denmark)
ATS (Austria) FIM (Finland)
ITL (Italy) NOK (Norway)
CHF (Switzerland) ESP (Spain)
FRF (France) PTE (Portugal)
GBP (Britain) JPY (Japan)
Send the correct amount, equal to $20 US at current rates, along with
the registration form, to:
Goran Paulin
Rade Supica 1
51000 Rijeka
CROATIA
That's right, Croatia. Goran can be reached by email at
Goran.Paulin@tvri.fido.hr, or by voice at +385 (051) 427-611.
Your Q-Blue disk will be mailed to you from the USA.
But for the majority of users it is simpler to register directly with
the author. To register directly, send $20 US to:
Paul Kienitz
6430 San Pablo Ave.
Oakland, CA 94608
USA
I can also accept some foreign currencies, particularly Canadian
dollars. But when registering directly, payment options for non-US
currencies are much more limited. I am UNABLE TO ACCEPT:
- personal checks from any bank outside the United States
- "Eurocheques"
- currencies other than Deutschmarks, British pounds, Australian
dollars, Canadian dollars, or US dollars (DEM, GBP, AUD, CAD, USD)
- coins of any kind
This means that when registering directly with me from outside the USA,
your choices are pretty much limited to either an international money
order, or cash. (I can accept no responsibility for cash lost in
transit. At least one European registration letter has had currency
stolen from it before reaching me.) Canadian customers can get money
orders in US dollars from the post office.
None of these restrictions apply when registering via Goran Paulin,
except the last one: no coins. So in Europe it may be less expensive
for you to send payment to Croatia instead of to me, even if your
currency is one I accept (British pounds or Deutschmarks).
If sending cash, ROUND UP to the nearest unit of paper currency. It
helps if you allow an extra $2 for the conversion fees I have to pay, if
sending cash. Of course, if you can send US dollars directly, that is
most preferable to me. In Goran's case, the currencies in the left hand
column above (HRK, SIT, DEM, etc) are preferable to those in the right
hand column (BEF, NLG, DKK, etc).
Again, mail your registration -- including payment, your mailing address,
your name as you wish it to be displayed in your copy, and (if you wish)
answers to the questions below -- to either of these addresses:
Paul Kienitz Goran Paulin
6430 San Pablo ave Rade Supica 1
Oakland, CA 94608 51000 Rijeka
USA CROATIA
REGISTRATION FORM
Your name, as it should appear in the program, is:
The mailing address to send the disk to is:
Optional questions about your system:
1) Do you expect to use Q-Blue with QWK mail, Blue Wave mail, or both?
2) What kind of Amiga or Amigas do you plan to run it on? In particular:
- Which Amiga model?
- What AmigaDOS version?
- How much memory?
- Is the video PAL or NTSC (or other) by default?
- Is there an accelerator or replacement CPU?
- Is there a hard disk or disks? What controller is used, if it's
not built in?
- Is there a de-interlacer, a non-Commodore graphics board, or other
added display hardware?
- Any other hardware that might affect use of Q-Blue?
- Is any software installed that affects standard system operations?
For instance, a replacement command shell such as WShell, or a
console handler like KingCON, anything that affects how normal
windows or requesters operate, etc.
- Anything else you think might be important?
3) What suggestions do you have for improving the program? You need not
answer this now -- I encourage all users, registered or not, to offer
bug reports or suggestions or complaints at any time. These can be
sent to my address above, or by electronic mail to one of the places
listed in the last section of the manual, Q-Blue.doc.
