  31. The directories are C which contains the display program "more", and S
  32. which contains a script, AEMced.scr, for calling the CygnusED editor.

  34. This is Version 1.21 (BETA M) of AEMail (Amiga EMail), an InterNet Mail
  35. User Agent (Client), which can be used on an Amiga to retrieve mail from,
  36. and send mail to, a POP server.  It requires a TCP/IP stack compatible with
  37. AmiTCP and AmigaDos 2.1 or later.  AEMail has been tested with AmiTCP,
  38. TermiteTCP, and Miami.

  40. AEMail can also be used as a "MailTo" agent in WWW browsers, such as
  41. Voyager and AWeb, which allow the user to specify such an agent for
  42. composing and sending email.  You can also call AEMail with an already
  43. composed message from another program and queue or send the message.

  45. This is a maintenance version which corrects a number of bugs found with
  46. Version 1.20.  A complete list of changes and the bugs corrected with
  47. version 1.21 is given in both the AEMail.Readme file and in the
  48. AEMail.guide file.

  50. Version 1.20, which was released earlier this week, was a major update.  It
  51. significantly changed the way messages were composed.  It allowed both the
  52. creation of quoted-printable and BASE64 message bodies for transmitting
  53. 8-bit message text.  It also removed the restriction on the use of CED as
  54. your editor.

  56. The 1.20 version also used a redesigned command tool bar (in color and
  57. smaller!) and folder tool bar and implemented cursor control of listview
  58. displays and drag selection for users of AmigaDOS 3.0 and above.  Further
  59. enhancements to the cursor control and command tool bar have been added in
  60. version 1.21.

  62. This version of AEMail provides certain features only to registered users
  63. (those paying the shareware fee).  These features (not available to
  64. unregisterd users) are:
  65.  
  66.     Ability to use multiple signature files.
  67.     Ability to add user defined headers to a message.
  68.     Ability to shrink or expand group entries in Address Book displays.
  69.     Enhanced speed on message displays.
  70.     Password protection for separate configurations.

  72. For those of you that have used AEMail 1.15, you will notice that for
  73. un-registered users, the display speed for messages will return to what it
  74. was prior to release 1.15.

  77. AEMail is now shareware with a registration fee of $30 (US dollars).  Read
  78. the details of this in the AEMail.Readme file or the AEMail.guide file.

  80. There is a very convenient Install script (Install_AEMail) for installing
  81. (and configuring) AEMail.  It uses Amiga Technologies Installer program
  82. which is included with the archive.  Please read the "Install.txt" file
  83. before attempting to install AEMail.

  85. If you are updating from a version of AEMail prior to 1.10 you should use
  86. the "Expert" level of the Install script in order to locate where you
  87. previously located AEMail.  Releases after 1.10 will be able to determine
  88. where AEMail has been placed if you use the Install_AEMail script to
  89. install both the prior version AND this version.

  91. Besides the AEMail.Readme file, two documentation files have been provided:
  92. AEMail.doc and AEMail.guide.  The AEMail.doc is a flat ASCII file that is
  93. designed to create a printout of the documentation.  Except for form feeds,
  94. NO FORMATTING COMMANDS ARE EMBEDDED IN THIS FILE so you need a file printing
  95. program to print it out.

  97. AEMail.guide, on the otherhand, is an AmigaGuide file.  It's icon calls
  98. MultiView; however, after the install operation the icon's default tool
  99. will be changed to AmigaGuide if you are running under AmigaDos 2.1.
