This is first release of Browser and dbfcpy. These two programs are
designed for manipulating databases in DBF format. As you probably know it
is very popular format not only in PC platform. There is of course program
which can deal with DBFs on Amiga side. It is commercial and therefore
expensive program called "SBpro". Destination of these programs is not to
replace "SBpro" because they are comparatively simple. The main goal for
using them may be the need for quick view of particular database contents
and making simple operations on it.
Dbfcpy is program which imitates (with some limitations) behaviour of
dBase/Foxbase command "copy". It can perform copying source DBF file to
destination file with selection of records due to given criterion and also
it can do projection of particular fields. It may be used only from CLI.
Browser is much more complicated program which can do as follows:
- creation of new DBF files,
- viewing of exisiting DBF files,
- editing, appending, inserting, deleting and sorting records in files.
This program has it's own "user interface" and may be executed either from
CLI or Workbench. After running from Workbench, Browser looks for it's
icon and reads following ToolTypes:
EKRAN values: PAL, PALLACE, DBLPALNF, E36LACE, S72SUPLACE
RODZAJ_DBF values: CLIPPER, DBASE
PL_ZNAKI values: PL, MAZOVIA, LATIN-2
The meaning of values given above is simple:
- first tooltype determines resolution of screen used by program,
- second describes two main kinds of DBFs (it decides what kind of DBF
will be created),
- third has importance only for databases containing letters of Polish
alphabet.

This is first release of these two programs so they have bugs (esp.
Browser). Please tell me what bugs you found.
