  3.               Welcome To The World Of Speech Synthesis

  6. The Enable Reader 4.0 Professional Speech System is a four disk set.
  7. This is disk one--The Program Disk.  It contains all the programs for the
  8. seven speech synthesizers currently supported.  The addresses for the
  9. companies producing the speech synthesizers are located in the APPENDIX
  10. of the manual under RESOURCES.  You are encouraged to make copies of
  11. this set for your friends.

  14. CONTENTS OF 1 PROGRAM DISK.

  16. There are seven sub-directories containing the Enable Reader 4.0 programs.
  17. The names of the sub-directories and the synthesizers they support are:

  25. VOTALKER                        VOTRAX, INC. -  VOTALKER IB
  26. VOTRAX                          VOTRAX, INC. -  VOTRAX PSS
  27. VOTRAX_B                        VOTRAX, INC. -  VOTRAX PSS/B

  29. Each sub-directory contains a version of Enable Reader for the
  30. that unit.  Any table for any synthesizer can be loaded into the
  31. the program and the Enable Reader will run for that synthesizer.
  32. The reason that a separate program is given is if you forget to
  33. transfer the default table - ENABLE.TBL - the program will still
  34. start up for that synthesizer.
