The documentation files are
PMK-READ.1ST (this file),
PMK-UTIL.DOC (60 pages of complete documentation),
UPDATES.DOC (an overview of changes since ver 3.1),
and
REGISTER.DOC (information about paying for the Professional Master Key
utilities and receiving a printed manual, telephone support, notice of
updates, and more.
These documentation files can be printed via the PRINTDOC.BAT batch
command file by issuing the command PRINTDOC

There is normally no need to "install" the Professional Master Key
utilities. If you are the adventurous type who never read manuals, just
run PMK.
Please be somewhat cautious when running programs like Zero Disk,
Zero File, and Un Format. They could get you into trouble if you bypass
the warnings and safeguards built into the programs.

Notes for "semi-compatible" IBM PC clones:
The Professional Master Key Utilities will run "out of the box" on
99.99% of all IBM compatible computers. If you suspect or know that
your computer is an older not-very-IBM-compatible, try running the
programs with the option /Slow ON specified. Doing this instructs the
programs to display video output using more well-behaved BIOS routines.
Refer to the documentation for instructions on making this the default
setting through the INSTALL.EXE program.

The file REGISTER.DOC contains full registration information at the end.
Basically, registration is $35 which entitles you to use the
Professional Master Key Utiliteis past a reasonable evaluation period,
you will also receive a current copy of PMK, a typeset 70-page manual,
notice of updates with low-cost upgrade offers, and notice of any major
bugs that may be found in the software. You will still be entitled to
technical support by telephone or BBS (although we have yet to have a
technical support call from a registered user!)
Site licenses and VAR bundling licenses are also available and detailed
in REGISTER.DOC

This version (3.2) of Professional Master Key was released on 2/15/91.
Technical support (answers to your questions) is provided on and the
latest version is always available for downloading from our bulletin
board system, the

A the next major release of PMK is expected near the end of 1991. Feel
free to call PBS for information about this if you feel you have
received an older version from a BBS or from another disk vendor or user
group.
Possible additions in the next version include a TSR version, EMS
support for huge disks, and a utility that will capture all memory to a
disk file for emergency error recovery and debugging.
