  5. QUICK START
  6. ===========

  8. 1) The Music Rudiments operates with CMSDRV version 3.2,
  9.    If you have not loaded CMSDRV, insert Disk #1 and
  10.  
  11.    type :              CMSDRV
  12.  
  13.  
  14.    If an older version of CMSDRV is already loaded, you must first
  15.    remove it by typing:   CMSDRV  /u  (unistall the driver)
  16.    OR  reset your computer and load the new one.
  17.  
  18.    NOTE :  This  CMSDRV.COM (ver 3.2) is defaulted to run on  the
  19.            GameBlaster (C/MS  card), if you have the SoundBlaster,
  20.            run  CMSSETUP in Disk#1 to change the driver.

  22.            Copy this CMSDRV.COM to your harddisk's AUTOEXEC.BAT.

  26. 2) Type :              START1    to run Disk#1
  27.                        START2    to run Disk#2
  28.                        START3    to run Disk#3

  31. Installing to Harddisk
  32. ----------------------
  33. Make a sub-directory   /MUSICR/ in your harddisk and xcopy all 3 disks
  34. into this sub-dir :

  36.       1) Go to the root dir:      C>  cd\
  37.  
  38.       2) make /MUSICR/ dir:        C>  md musicr
  39.  
  40.       2) change to /MUSICR/ :      C>  cd musicr
  41.  
  42.       3) put disk#1 in A:           C> xcopy a:*.* /s
  43.  
  44.       4) put disk#2 in A:           C> xcopy a:*.* /s
  45.  
  46.       3) put disk#3 in A:           C> xcopy a:*.* /s

  145. Each  of  the  above  topics (in brackets)  are  found  in  their
  146. respective  batch files. If you cannot remember the topic  names,
  147. simply do a directory listing by putting disk #1, disk #2 or disk
  148. #3 in drive A and type:
  149.  
  150.                          A>  dir
  151.  
  152. The  topics will appear with extension xxxxx.BAT. Type  the
  153. topic name you wish to go into.
  154.  
  155.           Example :

  160. If you want to read all the topics on that disk,
  161.  
  162.           Type :         A>  STARTx
  163.  
  164.     (where x is 1, 2 or 3.  hence : START1, START2 or START3 )

  167. You  can pause or freeze each lesson at any point by  holding  down 
  168. the [Ctrl] key and hit the [5] key two times.  
  169.  
  170.  
  171. To continue, hold down the [Ctrl] key and hit [5] once only.  
  172.  
  173.  
  174. To  stop the music completely, hold down the [Ctrl] key  and  hit 
  175. [5] three times:  
  176.  
  177.      When  doing that, the graphic change will speed  up  as 
  178.      they do not need to wait for the music.  Therefore,  it 
  179.      is  best  to just lower the volume of your  Music  Card 
  180.      unless you  want to browse through the lesson.

  183. To end, hold down the [Ctrl] key and hit the [End] key.
