HELPAVAIL BDFHIMOSPQ
VERSION 1.02a
REVISION I
START HELP B
B - BANK OPTIONS
This command allows you to copy, destroy, edit, jump to, kill, load,
print, receive, save, and transmit a bank. Along with this, you may see
which banks are available for loading. Furthermore, this command allows
you to create a new bank, or put the patches in the bank in alphabetical
order. If you accidentally select a bank that does not exist, RC will
let you know.
[D]estroy This will kill all of the patches in the bank. Before
destroying the patches, RC will check to make sure that
the patches are saved. If not, you will be allowed to
save it before continuing.
[E]dit You can edit the active bank's comments or change the
name of any patch.
[F]iles Will display the banks available for loading.
[J]ump Allows you to change to a specified bank.
[K]ill Removes the bank from memory, or kills the bank. Before
killing the bank, RC will check to make sure that the
bank is saved. If not, you will be allowed to save it
before continuing.
[L]oad Allows you to load up a bank from either the floppy or
hard disk.
[N]ew Creates a new bank.
[O]rder This allows you to put the names of the patches in the
specified bank in alphabetical order. When this
function is activated, you will be asked if you want
the order of the patches to be in ascending (from 'A'
to 'Z') or descending (from 'Z' to 'A') alphabetical
order.
[P]rint This will print a list of patches in the bank. Also
any comments that are stored with the bank are printed.
[R]eceive Receives patches from the synthesizer and sends them to
the specified bank.
[S]ave Allows you to save a bank. RC will ask you which
filename you want the bank to be saved as. If the
filename you chose already exists on the disk, then RC
will ask you if you are sure if you want to write over
that particular filename.
[T]ransmit Transmits patches in the active bank to the
synthesizer.
END
START HELP D
D - DOS SHELL
This command allows you to temporarily exit to DOS. This command does
NOT quit the program; it just allows you to perform DOS functions
without quitting the program. Do NOT run any memory resident programs
or "un-behaved" programs when you are in the DOS shell. It is mainly
here to allow you to check the contents of a disk, delete or copy files,
and format disks. When you are done using the DOS shell, type in "EXIT"
and press [ENTER] to return to RC.
END
START HELP F
F - FILES LISTING
If you need to look at the contents on a disk, instead of exitting to
DOS, you can use this command. The current directory is assumed but you
can view any directory. You are allowed to use wildcards.
END

I - INFORMATION
This command will display the current settings of RC.
The settings displayed are:
■ The current path settings
■ The MIDI channel setting
■ If a MIDI interface exists
■ If RC is in recording a macro
■ The number of banks in memory
■ How much memory is available
■ The display mode
■ What type of synthesizer is being used with RC
END
START HELP M
M - MACRO
Allows you to execute or record a macro. Also allows you to see what
macros are available to be executed.
[E]xecute To execute a macro that exists the disk.
[R]ecord When this function is chosen, RC is in Record mode. RC
will ask you for a filename to save the "recording" to.
If the file already exists, then RC will ask you if you
are sure as to whether you want to write over that
file. The filenames that were saved from Record mode
have an extension of .RCM. Everything that you do in
RC is "recorded." In order to stop the recording,
press Ctrl-R. The "recording" was saved to a file in
the macro subdirectory. To execute a recording, is the
same thing as trying to execute a macro. (See the
Execute function above).
[F]iles Allows you to see the available macros for execution.
END
START HELP O
O - OPTIONS
This command allows you to change the color mode, to change the
directories settings, invoke a MIDI option, and set what type of
synthesizer you are using with RC.
[C]olor Allows you to change screen color between color,
full color, monochrome, or one color only.
[D]irectories Allows you to set paths to where your banks,

START HELP P
P - PATCH
Allows you to audition, copy, edit, graphically edit, kill, print,
remove, receive, and transmit patches.
[A]udition Auditions (plays) the patch through the synthesizer
[C]opy Upon occasion, you will want to copy a patch from one
bank into another. You will then be able to choose
which patch you want as the source patch. Once this
has been done, you will be asked to choose the
destination patch. Use the [TAB] and [SHIFT-TAB] keys
to change between the banks and the [ARROW KEYS] to
change between patches. Keep doing this until you get
to the source or destination bank, then hit [ENTER].
[E]dit This function puts you into the Patch Editor. All of
the information about the patch is displayed in the
editor. You can use the [-] and [+] keys to choose the
value you want for the current parameter. You can also
press the [SPACE BAR] to be able to type out the actual
value you want for that parameter.
[G]raph Displays a graphic of the patch and allows you to
actually edit the amplitude or frequency of the graph.
[K]ill This function will kill a certain patch from the bank.
[L]isten Sends the current patch to the edit buffer of the
synthesizer. The program will then wait for a key to
be pressed before removing the patch from the edit
buffer.
[N]ame Allows you to quickly edit the name of a patch.
[P]rint This function will print out the patch to the printer.
[R]eceive Receives the currently selected patch on the
synthesizer. You select where the patch will be stored
when it is received and if a patch is already there, it
will be overwritten.
[T]ransmit Transmits the selected patch to the synthesizer's edit
buffer. You may then write the patch to any location
in your synthesizer.
END
START HELP S
S - SEQUENCE

transmitted to the synthesizer, receive a sequence from the synthesizer,
or transmit a sequence to the disk.
[F]iles Displays the sequences available for transmitting.
[R]eceive Receives one or all sequence(s) from the synthesizer to
the disk. RC will then ask you which filename you want
the sequence(s) to be saved as. If the filename you
chose already exists on the disk, then RC will ask you
if you are sure if you want to write over that
particular filename.
[T]ransmit Transmits a sequence from the disk to the synthesizer.
END
START HELP Q
Q - QUIT REMOTE CONTROL: ESQ
This command quits to DOS. If you have any unsaved banks, you will be
asked if you wish to save them before quitting. If you have many banks
loaded into memory, closing of all the banks may take a short time.
END
