  1. 1 Last name : 
  2. The above number signifies
  3. level 1 which is the
  4. composer's last name; each
  5. line corresponds to the
  6. letters A, then B, then C,
  7. etc. So, by hitting ALT-A
  8. you'll be able to paste
  9. the first line, ALT-B the
  10. second, etc. Note though
  11. the string that followes
  12. the level's number; this
  13. is used as a prompt for
  14. that level. Prompt strings
  15. may be up to 21 characters
  16. long.
  17. Let's define some strings
  18. for level 2 now which is
  19. the composer's first name:
  20. 2 First name : 
  21. This is level 2: ALT-A
  22. Hit ALT-B to paste this line.
  23. 3 LP title : 
  24. This is level 3, the name
  25. of the composition. So far
  26. for this level we have defined
  27. new strings for ALT-A thru ALT-D
  28.  
  29. and ALT-F but not ALT-E!!!
  30. See, by leaving the fifth line
  31. above blank, we do not override
  32. the default definition for ALT-E.
  33. 4 Contrib musicians : 
  34. This is level 4 which corresponds
  35. to orchetras.
  36. 5 Producer : 
  37. Level 5 is reserved for
  38. conductors.
  39. 6 Label : 
  40. You may define your own list of
  41. labels in this level.
  42. 7 CD serial number : 
  43. And your own comments right here.
  44. Notice though that lines
  45. (i.e. strings) should not
  46. be more than 25 characters
  47. long, so most of these lines
  48. will be chopped when you
  49. read them in.
  50. 8 Keywords : 
  51. Finally, this is the place
  52. to put strings to be used
  53. when doing keyword searching.

  59. Note the blank in column 1 above;
  60. a number in column 1 is a
  61. definition of a new level
  62. and a number in that column
  63. followed by other characters
  64. is an error. Also note that
  65. I specified the same prompt
  66. string as before; otherwise
  67. I would have redefined it.
  68. Below is an invalid level and
  69. reading will be aborted:
