  1.            GETTING STARTED WITH VBLASTER

  4. ■ Introduction
  5.  
  6. Thank you for acquiring this product.  VBLASTER.EXE is a quality
  7. program that provides an easy to use 'Windows' like operator interface.
  8. Being nearly CUA (Common User Access) compliant, this program was
  9. intended to provide you with the capabilities to create SoundBlaster
  10. voice files, and to Play both SoundBlaster voice and CMF music files.
  11. With List boxes, radio buttons, and scroll bars, even the novice with
  12. no knowledge of DOS can run this program.

  14. On-line help is provided to accelerate learning the various menues and
  15. dialog boxes.  Press F1 anytime to receive help.

  17. ■ Installation

  19. Simply copy the following files into the same directory:
  20.  
  21.     VBLASTER.EXE     The main program
  22.     BLASTM.HLP      Help file for the main program functions
  23.     BLASTR.HLP      Help file for the Record dialog box
  24.     BLASTP.HLP      Help file for the Play dialog box
  25.     REGISTER.TXT    Text file describing how to register this product

  27. The directory you chose can be any directory.  If you chose a current
  28. directory that is on the DOS path, then you can then run VBLASTER from
  29. any directory without having to type the full path name.
  30.  
  31. You can also create a new directory for the new files and launch this
  32. program from other applications such as Pctools or Windows.
  33.  
  34. For those of you not familiar with DOS, here is an example for setting
  35. up VBLASTER.EXE to run after downloading this program into the
  36. directory c:\pcplus\dwn
  37.  
  38.     c:
  39.     md c:\blast
  40.     cd \blast
  41.     copy c:\pcplus\dwn\vblaster.exe
  42.     copy c:\pcplus\dwn\*.hlp
  43.     copy c:\pcplus\dwn register.txt

  45. ■ Running
  46.  
  47. To run this program, simply type VBLASTER anytime at the DOS prompt if
  48. the files were copied into a directory which was on the path.  
  49. Otherwise, type the full path name such as \blast\VBLASTER to run.

  51. You can also create a batch file which would call this program with the
  52. path if the directory used is not on the DOS path.

  54. ■ Registering
  55.  
  56. Please send in your registration if you decide you like VBLASTER.  It
  57. will enable me to continue to upgrade and enhance the program with new
  58. functions and to support bug fixes.  Also, you will receive notices of
  59. new program releases I am currently working on that use the 
  60. SoundBlaster card.
