Transcription: Coming as I've just done from unoccupied Europe, there seems to me a great sense of unreality about Berlin. It's difficult to grasp the fact that one is living in the capital of a large country and that at the same time one is cut off. Only the constant drone of aircraft reminds one how the lifeline to Western Berlin is being kept open. And I notice that after a few days here one scarcely heeds the low-flying aircraft anymore. They so soon become part and parcel of this strange, one might almost say surrealist life in the German capital.
