CRAPS! Version 1.02 January 1, 1994
=================================================================
CRAPS! COPYR. 1993,1994 Ralph Scott, All Rights Reserved
DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTY -------------------------------
THIS SOFTWARE IS DISTRIBUTED AND SOLD "AS IS" AND WITHOUT
WARRANTIES AS TO THE PERFORMANCE OF MERCHANTABILITY OR ANY OTHER
WARRANTIES WHETHER EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED. BECAUSE OF THE VARIOUS
HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE ENVIRONMENTS INTO WHICH THIS PROGRAM MAY BE
PUT, NO WARRANTY OF FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE IS OFFERED.
THE USER MUST ASSUME THE ENTIRE RISK OF USING THE PROGRAM. ANY
LIABILITY OF THE AUTHOR/DISTRIBUTOR/SELLER WILL BE LIMITED
EXCLUSIVELY TO PRODUCT REPLACEMENT OR REFUND OF
PURCHASE/REGISTRATION PRICE.
INCOMPATABILITES AND LIMITATIONS ---------------------
Windows Only:
CRAPS! is a game designed for use with Microsoft Windows(R) 3.X.
It will not run in DOS alone. There is not a DOS version
available.
Screen Drivers:
The screen layout is 640x480 pixels. This is full screen on
EGA/VGA monitors. The game resolution cannot be changed. On
screens with greater resolution the game cannot be played full
screen. On screens with less resolution, the layout will not fit
on the screen.
Using large fonts on high resolution monitors may cause some of
the game windows to truncate and crowd text in some dialog boxes.
GENERAL -----------------------------------------------
CRAPS! is an attempt to re-create casino play. Unlike many of
the video craps games available, CRAPS! attempts to handle play
as it is found in casinos. A comprehensive help file is provided
to explain the game and how to play. This copy of CRAPS! is not
disabled in any way, and other than the initial "CRAPS! is not
Free" window, there are no "pester" screens that pop up
threatening you with lifelong guilt if you don't register.
This version of CRAPS! is being released on January 1, 1994. As
author, I do have plans for future releases and upgrades.
Potential (emphasis on POTENTIAL) upgrade features include:
1. Versions for different screen resolutions,
2. Auto-play or program betting (this would allow the player to
develop strategies and let the computer do the work!),
3. Two person play,
4. A cheaters feature (you determine the number rolled!),
5. Sounds for those with sound boards.
Again, I make no promises, but there is room for improvements and
upgrades will come. As this is the case, please note the date
of this release. If this version is over six months old, there
may very well be a newer version available.
If you received CRAPS! in the self-extracting file, you may
freely distribute the game as long as you distribute the self-
extracting exe in its original condition and do so without
compensation. This includes uploading to bullitin boards.
FILES -------------------------------------------------
CRAPS! is distributed with the following files:
1. CRAPS!.EXE The program file
2. CRAPS!.HLP The help file
3. CRAPS!.INI The initialization file
4. README.TXT This text file
5. ORDERME.TXT The registration form
The initialization file stores the games default configuration
information.
REGISTRATION -----------------------------------------
Registration fee for CRAPS! ver 1.02 is (US) $20. Registered
users receive notification of product upgrades and product
support. For registered users, a copy is available without
the initial "CRAPS! is not Free" window. As with prior versions
of CRAPS!, the author may, at his discretion, provide custom
versions of the game if the game is not significantly altered.
The registration form in the file ORDERME.TXT explains how to
register.
