  4. The file "QRZLookup.sea" is a self-extracting archive of a Macintosh 
  5. application to find calls, names, city/states and zip/postal codes from 
  6. the QRZ Call Sign Databases.
  7.  
  8. To install on your hard drive, double click the "QRZLookup.sea" file and 
  9. select your desired location for installation from the dialog that will 
  10. appear.  A folder named "QRZ Lookup" will be created containing the 
  11. application and a "Read Me" TeachText/SimpleText file of additional 
  12. information.

  15. Using QRZ Lookup
  16.  
  17. QRZ Lookup will locate entries in the QRZ Callsign Data Base using call, 
  18. name, city and state/province or zip/postal code. 
  19.  
  20. The application may be run from the CD or copied to a desired location on 
  21. your hard drive.
  22.  
  23. Merely double click the QRZ Lookup icon to run.  No installation is 
  24. needed.  When the application starts, a single window will be displayed.  
  25. All functions, except for locating the databases, are performed using the 
  26. page controller at the top of that window.

  28. Before performing any lookups, the software will need to record the 
  29. location of the QRZ Data Bases.  Using the item Locate Databases.. in 
  30. the "File" menu of QRZ Lookup, navigate to the QRZ CD and locate the 
  31. folder named "callbk".  Highlight that folder and the button at the 
  32. bottom of the dialog will display Select callbk.  Press the button 
  33. and the location will be saved.

  35. The criteria entered for a lookup is NOT case sensitive.  Entries may be 
  36. in upper, lower or mixed case.

  38. To find:
  39.  
  40. Call - push the Call Sign button, enter the call and press the 
  41. "OK/Lookup" button (or the return key).  The name, address and other 
  42. information will display in the window.  Note this finds only the exact 
  43. call sign entered.

  45. Name - push the Name button.  Enter at least the last name.  A full or 
  46. partial first name will add an additional criteria.  Press "OK/Lookup".  
  47. The bottom portion of the window will display a list of all names that 
  48. match.  Clicking on an entry in the list will display the information for 
  49. the selected item.

  51. City-State - push the "City-State" button.  Enter a partial or full city 
  52. name AND the 2 character code for the desired state or province (MA, AR, 
  53. KS, etc.).  After pressing "OK/Lookup" a list will appear where 
  54. individual items may be selected for full information display.

  56. Zip - push the "Zip" button and enter the desired zip or postal code.  
  57. Again a list will be built after pressing the "OK/Lookup" button.

  61. Macintosh with a minimum 68020 processor or a PowerMac (PPC).
  62. Should function properly with a minimum of System 7.1. System 7.5 or 
  63. greater preferred.  
  64. 3 meg free memory over system requirements.
