  28. 1.1 SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

  31.    IBM PC or compatible 386DX/33 Mhz
  32.    4 MB RAM (593,000 bytes of free base RAM + 1,000,000 bytes of free XMS)
  33.    XMS version 2.0 or above
  34.    MS DOS 5.0 or higher
  35.    VGA or 100% register-compatible video card

  46. 1.2. INSTALLATION
  47.  
  48. A. To install the game place FG diskette in your floppy drive. Be sure this
  49.    drive is the active drive. For example, to make drive A: the active drive
  50.    type "A:" and then press ENTER.
  51. B. Type INSTALL A: C:\FG. Of course, parameters A: and C:\FG can depend on
  52.    your decision where you want to install FG.

  55. 1.3. CONFIGURATION

  57. A. To setup game type FGSETUP from your FG directory.
  58. B. Follow all on-screen prompts.

  63. 2. MAKING A BOOT DISK.
  64.  
  65. A. To start making a boot disk you must first have a blank disk.  If the disk
  66.    is not formatted you must follow the instructions listed below:-

  68.         If you have a 720k disk type:- FORMAT A:/F:720 /S <Return>
  69.  
  70.         If you have a 1.44M disk type:- FORMAT A: /S <Return>
  71.  
  72.    This will format the disk and make it a boot disk.

  75. B. You now have to put a Autoexec.bat file and a Config.sys file onto your 
  76.    boot disk.  These files have been provided on your Football Glory install
  77.    disk.  You now have to type at C:\>

  79.         MD TEMP <Return>. (This will make a temp directory).
  80.         COPY A:\AUTOEXEC.BAT C:\TEMP <Return> 
  81.         COPY A:\CONFIG.SYS C:\TEMP <Return>

  84. C. Once the above has been done you have to place your boot disk into the 
  85.    disk drive.  Now type the following:-

  87.         COPY C:\TEMP\AUTOEXEC.BAT A: <Return>

  89.         DELTREE TEMP (Only if you have DOS 6 and above)

  95. 2.1 STARTING FG FROM A BOOT DISK

  97. A. Place your boot disk in your A: drive.
  98. B. Reboot your machine (CTRL-ALT-DEL on the keyboard, or press
  99.    the reset button).
  100. C. After your machine reboots, change the active drive to the drive that
  101.    the game is on; TYPE:- C:, go to the directory that the game is on, 
  102.    type FG and press ENTER to start the game.

  105. 3. MANUAL UPDATE
  106.  
  107. A. The first screen after the intro, will be the main screen
  108.    containing the following options: CLUBS, NATIONS, REPLAYS, PRACTICE,
  109.    ABOUT and MUSIC.
  110.  
  111. B. Options menu contains: PITCH, TIME, AUTO REPLAY, GAME SPEED,
  112.    VIEW COMP, GRASS TYPE and SPECIAL ANIMS.
  113.  
  114. PITCH - There are eight additional pitches: ASTRO, WET, SNOW, ICY, MUDDY,
  115.         HARD, SOFT, DRY plus four mentioned in the manual: SPRING, SUMMER, 
  116.         AUTUMN and WINTER.

  118. GAME SPEED - You have two game speeds to choose from : NORMAL and FAST.

  120. C. In Play menu you can choose controls for each player. Just press on
  121.    the button to change the controls.
  122.    You can choose first or second kit.
  123.    There are ten different tactics to choose from:
  124.    4-4-2, 4-3-3, 5-3-2, 3-5-2, 6-3-1, 5-4-1, 4-5-1, 4-2-4, 3-3-4
  125.    and 5-2-3.

  127. D. It is possible to save up to sixteen games named REPLAYS.000,
  128.    REPLAYS.001, ... , REPLAYS.015. The games are saved in main FG
  129.    directory so you can easely backup them (just copy all files
  130.    that have REPLAYS for the name; COPY REPLAYS.* A:).

  132. E. Two players can play on the keyboard at the same time.
  133.    IMPORTANT: On some keyboard you can experience the problems
  134.               connected to hardware of your keyboard. Some keys
  135.               cannot be pressed in combination with others, which
  136.               means, there is a possibility that one player's keys can
  137.               interfer with other player's keys. The solution to this
  138.               problem is to check out all the combination of keys
  139.               and choose the one that best matches your keyboard.

  141. F. You can exit from menu at any time by pressing F10.
