  1. Welcome to Joust !
  2. Joust is a public domain adaption of the popular Atari™ arcade game.
  3. We believe it is accurate in every detail.
  4.  
  5. How to play:
  6.  
  7. Use fire button to flap your wings, thus gaining height. Height is most
  8. important in this game, since whoever is highest when a collision occurs,
  9. wins the joust. If both contenders have the same heigth, nothing happens.
  10. Collect the eggs before they hatch and the riders before they mount !
  11. Use joystick to steer your steed left and right.
  12. Player 1 uses joystick in port 1, player 2 uses port 0.
  13. To quit the game and save the highscore, hit <Control>-<C>.
  14. The game will run from any drive, but the screen must be in low resolution
  15. mode.

  19. Do not flap your wings too fast. Consider the momentum of your mount.
  20. In a survival wave, do not get killed to collect a huge bonus.
  21. In an egg wave, collect as many eggs as you can before they hatch !!

  23. Get a friend to play with you and collect a big bonus for each wave you 
  24. do not kill each other !
