CERTFONT.LZH contains the file CERTFONT.STW and this file.
If you are reading this you have obviously unpacked the archive. Copy
CERTFONT.STW to your AtariWorks folder, start Works and Open CERTFONT
This 3 page file has certificate phrase templates for Certificate of
Appreciation, Certificate of Completion, Employee of the Month,
Student of the Month and a funky seal. All were created in Outline
Art then massaged into GEM3 format via Arabesque. I thought about
uploading just the .GEM files but since several contain more than
128 polygon points they would be of limited usage in other programs.
AtariWorks handles them without any problems.
The typefaces used are Black Chancery, Helena (Old English clone),
Becker Medium (aka Rudelsberg) and Goudy Handtooled.
To use these templates place your text cursor anywhere inside the
desired template then click on Select Picture under the Edit Menu.
Next click on Copy under the Edit Menu followed by New under the
File menu. When the new document window appears select Page Setup
under the File menu and enter your selection of Portrait or Landscape
and your margins. Now you have to create a blank page to work on -
this is done by hitting the RETURN key until the left sidebar shows
page 2. Backspace a few times until the "2" is replace by "end".
Go back to the top of form and click on a position about midway
down the screen. Select Paste under the Edit menu and, voila!,
your certificate phrase will be pasted in. Now for the fun (work!)
Click on Select Picture under the Edit menu and play around with
the size and position until you have it where you want it (Oh please
give us editable Page Preview in AtariWorks ver2). Enter your text
and Save under a new name before printing. Several trial prints may
be required to get your margin settings optimized. Once you have
everything working as it should save the document as a template for
future needs. If you want to use my funky seal click your text cursor
where you want the top of the seal to appear, select Activate Document
under the Window Menu and import the seal using the same procedure
as you did for the phrase. You will probably need to play around
with sizing.
There are several good borders in .GEM format on Genie or use one
of the beautiful certificate papers from Paper Direct.
I will try to post some more certificate phrases including some
in curved format RSN.
I hope you find a use for these, they are yours to enjoy. Please
upload your efforts for the rest of us.
