WELCOME TO PAGESTREAM 2.2!
Included in this archive is a patch program and file to create
PageStream 2.2 from PageStream 2.1. Instructions on using
version 2.2 are included in README.2ND. Follow the instructions
in this text file to create PageStream 2.2.
INSTRUCTIONS
Ensure you have your original PageStream 2.1 program disk in a
safe place. Unlharc all the files in this archive. Store them on
your hard drive or on a double sided floppy.
1. To patch PageStream 2.1 run SUPERZAP.PRG by double clicking
on it.
2. Click on the button "read ZAP data". This will open a
file selector.
3. Choose the file PGS22.ZAP, then click OK. This will take a
while since it must read in the patch file which is over
300K.
4. Click on the button "PageStream 2.2 Patch". This will open
a file selector.
5. Choose the PageStream 2.1 program file from your hard
drive or floppy disk, then click OK. It is called PGS2.PRG.
This will take a while since it must read in the PageStream
program file.
You're finished. PageStream 2.1 has been updated to v2.2.
Be sure to read the README.2ND file for more instructions about
updating the printer drivers, import modules, and fonts.
If you have any more questions about SuperZap, consult the text
below.

Superzap v1.0 Copyright 1992 by Bill Aycock
Superzap can use a .ZAP file created with Update Maker to update
a programfile to a newer version. Superzap checks to see if the
file being updated isthe right size, and verifies that the file
contains any version-specificinformation the programmer
requested. Then Superzap creates an updated copy ofthe file and
writes it out to disk.
Superzap will run on any ST or TT in any resolution. It uses less
than 13Kof RAM, but needs to allocate a fairly large amount of
memory when running.Specifically, Superzap needs enough free
memory to hold the .ZAP file plus thefile being updated. (If
there's not enough RAM available, Superzap can performthe update
on disk instead of in memory.)
==================SUPERZAP OPERATION==================
Superzap was designed to be very simple to use. When you run the
program, you see a short description of the program, and three
buttons. The top buttonis marked "read Zap data". It's the
default button, so press the Return key. When the item selector
appears, choose the ZAP file. Superzap reads the fileinto memory
and verifies that it's a valid ZAP file.
If the file was a real ZAP file, the second button will be the
default whenyou return to the dialog. It will be labelled with a
comment, included in theZAP file, describing the update. Press
Return again, and use the item selectorto choose A COPY OF the
program you want to update. (ALWAYS perform an updateon a COPY of
the program, just in case something goes wrong!)
Superzap will read the file into memory, verify that it's the
right file, and perform the update. Then the old file will be
deleted and the new copywritten. If all goes well, you'll see an
alert saying that the operation wassuccessful, then Superzap will
end.
If there is any kind of problem in the process (the old version
can't bedeleted, not enough room on disk for the new one, can't
create the file, orany other I/O error), Superzap will alert you.
You'll have the option ofretrying the operation, using the file
selector to choose a new output file,or cancelling the process.
Superzap keeps a copy of the updated file in memoryuntil you
cancel the operation.
Superzap can also perform the update on disk if there's not
enough memoryavailable to hold the file. If this occurs, you'll
see an alert showing howmuch disk space Superzap needs for the
new file, then the file selector willappear. Select a directory
with enough free space. Superzap will create a newcopy of the
file being updated, and will update the copy. Then the old
filewill be deleted and the new file renamed. If any problem
occurs, the new fileis erased and the old file is left unchanged.
You can press the Help key (or click the title bar or the What It
Does box)to view the buffer size and address and the sizes of the
zap file and the oldand new versions.
