  3.           This patch archive will update either version 1.1
  4.           or version 1.11 of ExtenDOS to version 1.20.

  6. Introduction
  7. ============

  9.   This patch updates Anodyne Software's ExtenDOS package to
  10.   version 1.20.  After applying this patch, you will have the
  11.   following versions of these ExtenDOS modules:
  12.       CD.BOS         1.5
  13.       EXTENDOS.PRG   1.3
  14.       TRACE.TTP      1.6
  15.       UNIDRIVE.DOS   1.4
  16.       UNI_BDDS.DOS   1.4

  18.   NOTE: we strongly recommend that all users of ExtenDOS apply
  19.   this patch, as it fixes some problems and provides several new
  20.   features.

  46. What is needed to update
  47. ========================
  48.  
  49.   .   This archive file, and:
  50.  
  51.   .   An un-modified ExtenDOS distribution diskette, version 1.11, or
  52.   .   An un-modified ExtenDOS distribution diskette, version 1.1, or
  53.   .   An ExtenDOS distribution diskette, version 1.0, that has been
  54.       previously patched by PATCH001.TOS

  57. How to update
  58. =============
  59.  
  60.   1.  Make sure you have made a backup copy of the ExtenDOS distribution
  61.       diskette.
  62.  
  63.   2.  Copy the PATCH120.TOS file to the ExtenDOS distribution diskette.
  64.  
  65.   3.  Run PATCH120.TOS by double-clicking on it from the desktop.  For
  66.       each of the modules CD.BOS, EXTENDOS.PRG, UNIDRIVE.DOS & UNI_BDDS.DOS,
  67.       the program will create a backup copy of the original module (with
  68.       a .BAK extension) and then patch the original copy.  The final
  69.       message should be "All modules patched successfully".  If not,
  70.       please read the error messages carefully; they should indicate
  71.       what the problem is.

  73.   4.  Replace the following files on your distribution diskette with
  74.       the corresponding files from this archive:
  75.         READ.ME
  76.         TRACE.TTP
  77.  
  78.   5.  (Optional step) Copy CHECKIT.TOS and CHECKIT.CTL to your ExtenDOS
  79.       distribution diskette, and double-click on CHECKIT.TOS.  It will
  80.       perform a simple checksum verification on each of the files you
  81.       updated/replaced in steps 3 & 4 above.  If you get any messages
  82.       indicating that a module failed to verify, it's probable that
  83.       your newly-updated copy of ExtenDOS is invalid.  Try obtaining
  84.       another copy of this archive and redoing the update.  Alternatively,
  85.       you can order an updated copy from Anodyne Software: please see
  86.       below under "If you get an error message" for how to order.
  87.  
  88.   6.  Once you have finished updating your distribution diskette,
  89.       make a backup copy of this newer version.

  91.   ** VERY IMPORTANT STEP, READ CAREFULLY **
  92.  
  93.   7.  To install this version on your system, you MUST replace the
  94.       following files in your system with the corresponding files from
  95.       the newly updated disk:
  96.  
  97.         CD.BOS
  98.         EXTENDOS.PRG
  99.         TRACE.TTP
  100.         UNIDRIVE.DOS
  101.         UNI_BDDS.DOS
  102.       
  103.   8.  Please take the time to read the new READ.ME file carefully.
  104.       It contains information about all the new features of ExtenDOS
  105.       v1.20, particularly photoCD support.

  108. If you get an error message
  109. ===========================
  110.  
  111.   If you get an error message during the patch process and cannot
  112.   resolve the problem, you can mail us the diskette so that we can
  113.   update it.
  114.  
  115.   To have your diskette updated by us, you need to:
  116.  
  117.   1.  Send in your original ExtenDOS distribution diskette.
  118.   2.  Enclose a cheque for $5 + $2 shipping & handling ($7 total).
  119.   3.  Enclose a note with your name, address, and daytime phone number.
  120.  
  121.   In return you will receive a diskette containing ExtenDOS v1.20.
