Storm is a shareware telecommunications program from the original author of
Flash for the Atari ST.
Storm Features:
GEM-based terminal in a window. Custom font and text routines for
high-speed operation. Compatible with large screen monitors and hi-rez video
cards.
Multiple editing windows and capture buffer window are resizable, and
moveable. Full continuous word wrap. With MultiTOS, the number of
windows is limited only by available memory.
MultiTOS compatible. Uses memory sparingly and releases unused memory back
to the system.
The script language is interpreted Basic, with powerful command extensions
for telecommunication. Online help for Basic keywords. Full screen editor for
Basic programs.
Background dialing of multiple phone numbers.
No fixed limit on dial directory entries. Saves individual terminal and serial
port settings for each entry.
Background file transfer without requiring a reset-proof ramdisk.
Terminal emulations are loadable and unloadable. Current terminal emulations
include TTY (built-in), VT100, and Vidtex.
File transfer modules are loadable and unloadable. Current file transfer
capabilities include Ascii (built-in), BPlus, Xmodem, Ymodem, and Zmodem.

DISTRIBUTION CONDITIONS
You are free to distribute this shareware version of STORM as long as the
following conditions are met:
1. The distributed archive must contain ALL the files listed above.
2. The contents of this archive are NOT MODIFIED in any way. However, the
creation of foreign language resource files is encouraged. (See below.)
3. This program is not to be sold. However, this program may be distributed by
commercial shareware libraries and/or user groups either by itself or together
with other shareware/freeware items, who may charge a fee for the service.
4. This software is not to be bundled with a commercially software package
without written permission from the author.
Foreign language users
I have placed the alerts and most other text strings used in STORM into the
STORM.RSC file as alert and free string items. Should anyone wish to translate
these to another language, I would be happy to assist you by explaining some of
the special features of the STORM.RSC resource file, describing what each
string is used for, and sending you the STORM.DFN file used by the Resource
Editor. I have no objection to the creation of foreign language resource files,
as long as the original STORM.RSC file is still provided with the program.
HOW TO REGISTER
You are welcome to use this version of Storm as long as you wish. I hope that
you like it and decide you register it. When you register, you will be put on
the mailing list to receive printed documentation and the registered version of
Storm, expected to be available in early 1994.
While I will endeavor to correct any reported bugs in the non-registered
version of Storm, I will NOT be adding any new features to it. Only registered
users will receive new features and updated file transfer and terminal
emulation modules.
Registered version features will include:
Additional Basic commands to access the dialer and control window size and
position.
Enhanced editor features including search and replace, marking of text blocks,
local reformatting of paragraphs and blocks, and undo.
Sample source code for terminal emulation and file transfer modules.
Features that the beta testers were bugging me for, but I didn't have time to
include.
The registration fee is only $25. I will accept either Canadian or US funds.
(That is designed to be an incentive to purchase a Canadian dollar money order,
to save me the inconvenience of clearing checks drawn on U.S. banks.) I will
cover all applicable taxes, shipping and handling fees.
To register, send a money order (preferred) or check to:
