  5. Storm is a shareware telecommunications program from the original author of 
  6. Flash for the Atari ST.
  7.  
  8. Storm Features:
  9.  
  10. GEM-based terminal in a window. Custom font and text routines for
  11. high-speed operation. Compatible with large screen monitors and hi-rez video 
  12. cards.
  13.  
  14. Multiple editing windows and capture buffer window are resizable, and
  15. moveable. Full continuous word wrap. With MultiTOS, the number of
  16. windows is limited only by available memory.
  17.  
  18. MultiTOS compatible. Uses memory sparingly and releases unused memory back
  19. to the system.
  20.  
  21. The script language is interpreted Basic, with powerful command extensions
  22. for telecommunication. Online help for Basic keywords. Full screen editor for 
  23. Basic programs.

  25. Background dialing of multiple phone numbers.
  26.  
  27. No fixed limit on dial directory entries. Saves individual terminal and serial 
  28. port settings for each entry.

  30. Background file transfer without requiring a reset-proof ramdisk.

  97. Foreign language users

  99. I have placed the alerts and most other text strings used in STORM into the 
  100. STORM.RSC file as alert and free string items. Should anyone wish to translate 
  101. these to another language, I would be happy to assist you by explaining some of 
  102. the special features of the STORM.RSC resource file, describing what each 
  103. string is used for, and sending you the STORM.DFN file used by the Resource 
  104. Editor. I have no objection to the creation of foreign language resource files, 
  105. as long as the original STORM.RSC file is still provided with the program.

  107. HOW TO REGISTER
  108.  
  109. You are welcome to use this version of Storm as long as you wish. I hope that 
  110. you like it and decide you register it. When you register, you will be put on 
  111. the mailing list to receive printed documentation and the registered version of 
  112. Storm, expected to be available in early 1994.
  113.  
  114. While I will endeavor to correct any reported bugs in the non-registered 
  115. version of Storm, I will NOT be adding any new features to it. Only registered 
  116. users will receive new features and updated file transfer and terminal 
  117. emulation modules.
  118.  
  119. Registered version features will include:
  120.  
  121. Additional Basic commands to access the dialer and control window size and 
  122. position.
  123.  
  124. Enhanced editor features including search and replace, marking of text blocks, 
  125. local reformatting of paragraphs and blocks, and undo.
  126.  
  127. Sample source code for terminal emulation and file transfer modules.
  128.  
  129. Features that the beta testers were bugging me for, but I didn't have time to 
  130. include.
  131.  
  132. The registration fee is only $25. I will accept either Canadian or US funds. 
  133. (That is designed to be an incentive to purchase a Canadian dollar money order, 
  134. to save me the inconvenience of clearing checks drawn on U.S. banks.) I will 
  135. cover all applicable taxes, shipping and handling fees.

  173. Recommended installation:
  174.  
  175.     Create a directory called STORM. Inside that directory, create directories 
  176. called UPLOAD, DNLOAD, and BASIC. Copy all Basic files to Basic. Copy all other 
  177. files to STORM. In dial directory, select "Auto-Logon" and select the BASIC 
  178. directory. Select "File Transfer" in the Settings menu, select "Empty" buttons 
  179. and load desired file transfer. Setup file transfers using "Config" button and 
  180. choose DNLOAD as your download path.
