The current specification of KM_TERM (v1.73) is as follows :-
* MEDIUM or HIRES
* Full VT52 emulation all speeds.
* NOW MUCH FASTER SCREEN HANDLING! (over 1100cps with scrolling at
19200 baud with QuickST3 installed - on the same file v1.63
achieved 440cps under the same conditions)
* Partial VT100 & ANSI emulations in colour and mono - in practice
this allows you to ring in just about anywhere and get very
pretty screens. ANSI emulation is sufficient to display most ANSI
animations (although why anyone would be impressed with these is
beyond me !)
* Resizeable Capture buffer.
* Uses XYZ.TTP (intelligently) - get version 2.01 or higher if
possible.
* Auto ZMODEM detect (new for 1.73).
* Configured to use Tempus2.PRG - Alter ED> string in KM_TERM.CFG
to change to your favourite editor.
* Can run any program by simple ALT-R key combination (probably
even your current comms terminal emulator).
* Predefined program run slots for frequently-used programs, e.g.
ARCSHELL, RS232 fixes, V23EMU, STATS etc.
* 8 macro keys (F1-F8).
* Buffered V23 to avoid loss of returned characters (see what
you're typing). NB: you still need V23EMU.TOS for correct 1200/75
operation - this just substantially improves its effectiveness.
* Pretty pseudo-GEM front end control panel.
* Upload ASCII text file directly into most BBS line editors.
* Autodial and hangup for Hayes compatible modems (or others).
* Direct support for Mercury.
* Define up to 10 auto-run program slots with parameter passing.
* Extensive help menu that includes current call duration and
charge.
* Logs all calls and call charges on BT and Mercury (see how much
you're spending). (now improved from v1.63)
* Loads font at startup (IBM G2 character sets included) - now uses
three hires fonts for the VT100/ANSI emulations.
* Simple to use AUTOLOGON facility (improved from v1.5)
* Direct support for JEKYLL
* Automatic HOST mode - when someone else dials you, your modem
picks up the phone and connects like a BBS. You are immediately in
chat mode with full echo back to the calling terminal. The caller
can read bulletins, type messages to you and call up Jekyll, even
if you aren't there!
* Extended AUTOLOGON facilities allow you to include XYZ transfers in
autologon files.
Registration is only £5 for level 1 (conscience money) or £10 for
level 2 for which I will send you the latest version and a laser-
printed manual. NB: unlike most COMMS programs level 2 registration
includes the source code (Power BASIC).
