  4. o What's FizzBill?
  5.  
  6. FizzBill is a program that will calculate how much you have spent on you
  7. comms phonebill, when using the Freeze Dried Terminal program.  I wrote
  8. FizzBill for my own use, by soon realised that quite a lot of other people
  9. wanted to see how much they have spent their calls.

  11. o What's Connect?
  12.  
  13. The follow is an extract from the Connect docs...

  17. CoNnect is a terminal program for the ATARI ST/STE/TT series,
  18. which will run under (nearly) any resolution and operating
  19. system similar to the ATARI TOS. It allows a very good emulation
  20. of VT52, VT100, VT102/ANSI and VT220 Terminals. You can use
  21. this emulations on all serial and midi ports of your system
  22. and - if you want - even in parallel. CoNnect was tested on
  23. lots of graphics hardware and it seems to run well with all
  24. of them.

  28. o What's CN2Fizz?
  29.  
  30. CN2Fizz will convert the LOG file generated by Connect v1.96 into
  31. logs files that FizzBill will understand.  It also works with later
  32. versions of Connect, even though Connect now has a built in call
  33. coster.

  35. o Using CN2Fizz
  36.  
  37. First of all you need a modify the config. file, that CN2Fizz will read
  38. when run.  Here's an example of the ascii CN2FIZZ.CFG file...
  39.  
  40. D:\CONN_196.                           ! Path & filename of Connect Log file
  41. D:\BTLOGS\                             ! Path to write converted logs
  42. NO                                     ! Delete Connect Log file [YES/NO]
  43.  
  44. The 1st line is the path and filename of the log that is generated by
  45. Connect.
  46.  
  47. The 2nd line is the path where CN2Fizz will write the converted log files.
  48. Note that you MUST create this folder yourself.
  49.  
  50. The 3rd line tells CN2Fizz to delete the Connect log AFTER calls have been
  51. converted, if you put YES in the line.  I'd start off with NO in this line,
  52. until your sure everything is working ok, after which modify this to YES.
  53. Note that one version of the log file is kept, before deleteing ie. CONNECT.OLD
  54.  
  55. Save the config. file
  56.  
  57. Now run CN2Fizz.  If the config. file has been found, you should now be 
  58. told that the Connect Log file is being read.
  59.  
  60. If any calls have been found then CN2Fizz will tell you the date that
  61. the call was made and will write the information to a log file.  For
  62. example, if you made a call on 1-Jun-1993 then the log created will be
  63. called CN930601.LOG.
  64.  
  65. After the Connect log file has been read, the log will be deleted ONLY
  66. if you placed a YES in the 3rd line of the Config. file, but one version
  67. of the log file is kept BEFORE deleteing Ie. CONNECT.OLD
  68.  
  69. You should now have some CNyymmdd.LOG files, all you do now is run
  70. FizzBill...
