  3. QUARTET PLAYER 3  by Dan Panke (93-05-01)

  6. Use of QUARTET PLAYER 3 is almost self-explanitory. Just a few quick
  7. instructions.
  8.  
  9.     1) QUARTET PLAYER 3 works in any resolution on an Atari ST or
  10.     STe. Simply select your song and voice set via the file selector
  11.     box and sit back and enjoy. To stop the music, press <SPACE>.
  12.  
  13.     NOTE: If your voice set has the same prefix as your song then
  14.     the QUARTET PLAYER will not ask you for a VOICE SET. To bypass
  15.     this (and select another VOICE SET) hold down any of the
  16.     following keys when selecting your SONG: Control, Alternate or
  17.     Shift.

  19.     2) The files 'Q_PLAY3.PRG' and 'SINGSONG.DAT' must be in the same
  20.     path.

  22.     3) If you want a text file displayed with your song, create a
  23.     text file, name it the same as your song file, but add a 'T' (for
  24.     Text) after the .4V extender.

  26.         Example:   SHEDEVIL.4V   (song file)
  27.                    SHEDEVIL.4VT  (text file)
  28.  
  29.     This text file must also be in the same folder as your song file
  30.     to be displayed.

  32. NOTES:
  33.  
  34.     1) Should QUARTET PLAYER 3 lock up when playing a song this
  35.     normally indicates that your song has a looping error within the
  36.     song. The QUARTET program itself overcomes these errors but the
  37.     SINGSONG.DAT does not.

  58.     Turned the CAPSLOCK OFF before calling the file selector. Input
  59.     made the QUARTET PLAYER believe the SHIFT key was held down and
  60.     request a VOICE SET even though a matching SONG was selected.

  63.     Finally overcame the problem with multiple song plays. Everything
  64.     appears to work like a charm!

  67.     Enabled song files (.4V) to be compressed with PACK ICE Version
  68.     2.40. Big savings on disk space if desired. (NOTE: Do not pack the
  69.     voice sets. Saving on voice set compression is very minimal.)

  72.     Allowed the player to accept QUARTET songs, sets and text files
  73.     strung together. With the use of MAKE_ONE.PRG and SEPARATE.PRG you
  74.     can combine and separate the various QUARTET files. Strung files
  75.     will have the extender ".4Q". 4Q files can be compressed with
  76.     PACK ICE 2.40.

  79.     Fixed a minor bug in the screen display for a 4Q file that did not
  80.     contain appended text.

  83.     Quartet Player 3 now uses about 30K less memory. 4Q and/or 4V
