This is the Demo version of two powerfull Sound programs for the
Atari ST. DoSound is a full featured song development program
which can save files in XBIOS(32) interrupt format for use within
your own programs. The DoSound program supports MIDI and standard
MIDI files. DoEffect is a sound effect utility that gives
you total control over all of the Atari's sound functions to
create wild and exotic sound effects. DoEffect also saves its
files in XBIOS(32) interrupt format. Both of these programs
feature an elegant GEM interface which makes their use a breeze.
If you are a programmer and want to add sound to your programs,
these programs will save you hours and hours of development time!
If your just interested in playing with the Atari Sound chip,
these programs will bring you hours and hours of entertainment!
The complete package (with the Save options enabled) is only a
mere $30! An amazing price for such a usefull program in todays
market. Also included in the commercial package is a pre-printed
manual, and several additional utilities including a Juke Box
program. Also included are GFA Basic source code listings that
show you how to incorporate the output files created by DoSound
and DoEffect into your own programs.

Basics:
Making a backup copy of the DoSound disk:
For your convenience the DoSound disk is not copy protected,
and you should make a backup copy of your original disk and store
it in a safe place. Backup copies should be made only for your
own personal use.
Installing DoSound on a hard drive:
The DoSound disk may be copied to a hard disk, (even within a
different folder). The only requirement is that the DOSOUND.RSC
file should be located in the same path as the DOSOUND.PRG.
This same rule applies to the DOEFFECT.RSC and DOEFFECT.PRG files.
Requirements for running DoSound:
DoSound was written for the Atari ST series of personal computers
and requires a minimum of one megabyte of memory to operate. Both
medium and high resolution are supported. A MIDI capable instrument
is required for some of the features offered in the MIDI mode.
Conventions used within this manual:
The conventions used through out this manual are the standard
typical conventions. For detailed informations on how to work with
the menu bar, dialog boxes, windows or the mouse please refer to your
Atari owners manual. The DoSound program does not make use of the right
mouse key or double clicks. All mouse operations are performed with
single clicks from the left mouse key. The Effects program also does
not use the right mouse key but does allow double clicks on certain
buttons to allow you to change a value to its maximum or minimum value
quickly. The ^ symbol used in the DoSound menu bar indicates that you
should press and hold the Control key down while also pressing the
additional key specified to activate the command with the keyboard
equivalent.
