***********************************************************************
3D_SKI 3D Ski by Andrei Ellman was originally a sub-game within Battlepod,
the author's entry for the 1989 STOS Gameswriter of the year contest.
In case you're wondering why it's called 3D SKI when everything is in
2D, it is because: It rhymes, and the author couldn't be bothered to
prevent the sprites from looking as if they were about to fall off
the screen.
3D_TTT 3-D Tic Tac Toe by Steven T. Murphy. This tic tac toe game can be
played by two people on different computers that are connected via a
modem. It also has a "local" play mode so it can be played on a
single computer without a modem.
ACCTRIS ACCTRIS is a shareware desk accessory version of the classic Tetris
game. It is compatible with the ST, STe, and TT (possibly even the
Falcon) and supports DMA sound. All docs are in French.
ADVENT This folder contains the three files required to run the original
adventure game - COLOSSAL CAVE. This game was originally written in
Fortran 4 on a DEC computer. Richard Barhitte has translated it into
standard Fortran 5 (Fortran 77) and compiled using Prospero
Software's ProFortran.
ALIENATE Alienation by Andrei Ellman. You control a robot that is usually
found in the bottom left corner of the screen with the joystick. The
idea is to get all the pills that are in the ground. Unfortunatley,
there may be up to nine aliens chasing you at once.
ANTIX_PD ANTIX_ST version 1.0 - a great game from Germany. Naturally all of
the documentation is in German.
BANG BANG! version 1.10 by Mike Coupland. This game is based on a very
similar game for the IBM PC running Windows. This version only runs
in ST Low-Resolution. The idea of the game is to mark the position
of mines on a grid without uncovering them. The size of the grid
varies depending on the level of play, as does the number of mines to
be found. The game is played against the clock.
BAT17 BAT17 is a neat bomber game. It runs in ST low resolution only.
BATTLE BattleTris a Tetris game for all Atari computers by Daniel Hägg of
New Core. This game allows you to link two computers together and
play against each other. Just connect a null modem cable between the
two computers and select link mode. This game is "postcardware", all
you need to do to register is send a postcard to the author!
BELLUM Bellum Internecinum is a fast action game of destruction. The aim is
to try and survive for as long as possible against an endless
onslaught of suicidal aliens. It runs in ST low resolution and can
only be played using a joystick. BELLUM is written in 100% assembly.
BERZERK Berzerk by Dave Munsie. This game represents another trip down to
the classic arcade games of yesterday. BERZERK was one of the first
arcade games. The game is duplicated here pretty much down to the
pixel, including the robotic voices. This game should boot up fine
from ST low or ST medium resolution. Falcon030 compatible!
BLASTER Blaster by A.W. Brook. The object of this game is to protect your
men from evil grabbers that swoop down and pick them up. You can
save your men by shooting the grabber and intercepting the man before
it hits the ground. If a grabber reaches the top of the screen with
a man, they will become a mutant. (Sounds like Defender doesn't it)
BLOX Blox version 2.0 by Dave Baggett. The gameplay in Blox is simple:
you place your pieces on the center structure to make rings.
Complete rings disappear, causing the board to collapse in. You keep
placing pieces until there's no more room on the board for a piece,
at which point the game is over. Blox will run on any Atari ST or TT
with a color monitor and a hard drive or double-sided floppy.
BOUNCE Bounce! Works in ST Monochrome only.
BRAINDMG Brain Damage by Dave Cobbledick is all about you and your brain.
What you set out to achieve is to increase your 'Cell Count' and so
improve your I.Q. and your standing within the boundaries of the game
parameters. There are fifteen stages and eight very different games
to play in 'Brain Damage' with some being fun, some easy to work out
and some down right annoying and frustrating.
BTLBLIPS Battle Blips by Patrick Dell'Era is a clone of the popular Battleship
strategy game. Battle Blips will allow you to play a "solo" game
against the computer or, if you have a friend and you both have
modems, against a human opponent by linking two STs via modems.
CARDS_01 A set of card graphics that were painted by Dirk Hagedorn and Martin
Heise. The cards are in various formats including *.IMG, GEM .RSC,
and in monochrome and color formats for use with the Yukon game.

CLODHOPR Clod Hopper. The object of this game is to help Bill find his
girlfiend, Sonia, who has wandered into the old plutonium mine. Bill
must search the ten sections of the old mine. To complete a screen
he must fill in every segment of the floor. He is able to do this
simply by walking over it, where it will be filled in. The old mine
has become infested with mutant creatures that are fatal if touched.
CRAPS The classic Craps dice game.
CROSSFIR NOVA Crossfire by Huber Gerhard is a GEM based "crossfire" type ball
game. It runs as a desk accessory and is shareware (25 DM). It is
from Germany and all the documentation is in German.
CYBERNTX Cybernetix - an excellent clone of William's classic coin operated
Defender game.
C_SANTA "chateau Santa" - a game where the main character is Santa Claus.
DALECKS Daleks by Brian McClendon. Obect: Stay alive. If any dalek touches
you, or you run into a heap, the game is over. Staying Alive: Kill
all the daleks on the screen. This is done by: 1) running them into
each other. 2) running them into already existing heaps. 3) The
Sonic Screwdriver.
DANDUNGN Dangimere RPG Module II -- The Dungeon by Jeffrey Bilger. This is
level 1 to the Dungeon. If you liked Dungeonmaster, I think you'll
like this game as well!
DANGMER Dangimere RPG Module I by Jeffrey M. Bilger. Dangimere is a RPG that
the author has been working on for around 6 years. Dangimere will
run for sure on a 1 Meg ST. It has been tested somewhat on STe's,
Mega's and Falcons with no noticable problems. To get the full
effect of the game, it is best to hook up your audio output to a
stereo because there are many digitized sound samples.
DARKLYTE Darklyte 1993 by Howard Tilley. The game is a space game similar to
the Space crusade/Hero Quest. You will notice there is a grid where
4 droids are displayed at the top and four enemy droids are displayed
near the bottom. The object of the game is to destroy the enemy
droids.
DLXINVAD Deluxe Invaders by Dave Munsie - a conversion based on: The FANTASTIC
Atari 8 bit cart by ROKLAN. Another space invaders game? Well...YES!
But hopefully you'll agree this version captures alot of the
excitement of the original. It plays at a decent speed, has sound
effects that are true to the original, almost pixel perfect graphics
conversions.
DM_ED The Amazingly, Astonishingly, Astoundingly, Wonderful, Dungeon Master
/Chaos Strikes Back Editor version 1.0 by Simon Oke. It isn't very
pretty, it doesn't use GEM, and control is by keyboard only, but it
works. The one big restriction is that it runs in low (320 x 200)
resolution only, and it takes up the whole screen.
DOMINO Domino version 1.2 by A. Streu is a very good pd game of Domino's.
It will work on just about all ST/Ste/TT/Falcon computers. The game
and all documentation files are completely in German.
DONKY_K A pretty good clone of the classic Donkey Kong coin op game from
Nintendo. Works in ST monochrome only.
DRACHEN2 Drachen version 2.0 by Dirk Woitha. A *VERY* good adaptation of the
ancient chinese tile game more commonly known in the United States as
Shanghai or MahJongh. Runs in ST Monochrome only.
DR_N_062 Welcome to Dr. Necro, GFA version 0.62!! Dr. Necro is an Atari ST
game, similiar to Dr. Mario on the Nintendo game system. The concept
is simple, The main screen has a 'bottle' containing some viruses.
Your job is to kill off all the viruses, using colored 'pills' that
appear at the top of the bottle. A virus is destroyed when a line of
4 or more 'pill-parts' of the same color as the virus is made. When
all of the viruses are killed, you move onto a new, more diffcult
level.
EMPMAPS A large collection (235 actually) of maps for use with the game
Empire. These maps should add a new dimension of gameplay.
ENG_DRAC Drachen version 2.0 (ST Color version) by Dirk Woitha is derived from
an old game from China. 144 tiles are built up on 5 levels on the
playing surface. The goal is to remove all the tiles. To that end,
one may remove any two matching tiles, as long as each of them is
free to move either to its left or to its right [that is, there is no
other tile "in the way" of the movement of each matching tile].
EVADER Evader version 1.1 by Dave Munsie is similar to other shoot-em-ups in
that you have to blast nearly anything that moves. Simply guide your
craft by moving the joystick in the desired direction. Pressing the
fire button will launch your weapon. THIS GAME MUST BE COPIED TO A
HARD DRIVE OR FLOPPY DISK BEFORE RUNNING.
FRANT_ST Frantick by Dave Munsie. Welcome brave warrior to the kinetic combat
simulator Frantick. Here is where loyal soldiers sharpen their
skills at operating the empire's secret weapon. To facilitate
training and boost morale, bombs and increased blaster power are
available to the quick. Ample bonuses are supplied for those with a
taste of higher gratification.
GALAXIAN A clone of the classic coin op game Galaxian. Destroy waves of
attacking Galaxians by moving left and right and firing. The
Galaxians will sit in formation above you, and you can pick them off
with your Cannon. Beware - You can only fire one shot at a time.
Your next bullet will not reappear until your last one has
disappeared. Also, the Galaxians will break formation and swoop down
on you as they attack.
GAMEPAK The Solitaire Game Pak by R. David Sisemore is a shareware game
program which includes four of the more popular variations of
Solitaire type card games, Klondike, Golf, Pyramid and Scorpion.
GEMAMIGO GEMamigo version 1.0 by Warwick Allison. This is the first public
release of gemamigo a port of the X11 port of the Amiga Go program
AmiGo. GEM AmiGo runs in any resolution, including HiColor and
TrueColor, and MIGHT work with just 512K.
GETSLIDE Get_slide by Seymour Shlien follows in a similar vein to get_gems and
get_worm. The object is to find the path which acquires all the gems
and then go to the exit marked by an X. The task is complicated by
the fact that you are unable to stop moving on the slippery surfaces
until you bump into a barrier, gem or moveable object like birds,
frogs, and boxes.
GOAL_CH Goal Cheat version 1.0 by Stuart Ayton. The GOAL! team editor
doesn't allow you to alter players attributes or their position
(Midfield etc.) so the author wrote this program for those of you who
don't agree with GOAL!'s selection or if you just want to make your
team brilliant and your mates (or the computers) team rubbish.
GO_UP GO-UP is a graphics arcade-style game from Germany based on the
popular "LodeRunner" game. This version works in ST monochrome mode

have been translated to English. Includes English docs and the
original German docs.
GRANDAD Grandad & The Quest for the Holey Vest. This is a wacky shareware
adventure game like nothing you have ever seen before. If you like
weird and bizarre games, then this is for you!
GRAND_2 Grandad 2 : The Search for Sandwiches! YES, Grandad is back! Grandad
2 is one great adventure game. Anyway, this game is slightly
different from the first one. First difference, Grandad has lost his
pants. Second difference, he is on a three-wheeler. As bizarre and
hilarious (or more) as the first one, this is a pretty cool game.
HANGMAN Sos Hangman version 2.02 by John R. Duckworth - desk accessory
version of the classic Hangman game. If you have ever played hangman
then you already know how to play. Simply guess letters until you
have filled in the complete word or phrase located in the box near
the top of the accessory window.
HECTOR Hector vs. The Mutant Vampire Tomatoes from Hell by Pete J. Whitby.
The object of this game is to guide Hector around and destroy all the
tomatoes that are hopping/crawling around. This can be done in a
variety of ways. All movement is made with a joystick in port 1.
HEXMIN12 HexMines ST/STE version 1.2 by Jean-Etienne is a game where you have
to locate mines (or bombs) in a field: pretty original, isn't it?
What is new is that the tiles forming the mine field are hexagons
instead of squares: this little detail changes the game greatly.
ISOLA3 ISOLA version 3.20 is little two player strategy game. The goal of
the game is to place blocks in your opponent's path so that he or she
cannot move. It runs on every Atari computer in any resolution. To
be fully enjoyed, this game needs 1st Guide accessory to access to
the online help.
KABOOM KABOOM! by Dave Munsie. The object of the game is to catch all of
the falling bombs before they reach the bottom of the screen!
Otherwise..KABOOM!! Very simple but addicting classic game action.
KID_GP KID_GP by Dave Munsie. The object of KID_GP is to collect all the
diamonds found on each screen. That's all you have to do to advance
to the next screen. In the mean time various characters will either
try to chase you or just get in your way. To make things a little
more interesting there is a hammer on each level which you can grab
and use to clobber them down to size.
KILLTIME Killing Time by John Wangler & Jason Huerta is a 15-level game of
skill and timing. You begin with rock in hand, attempting to
eliminate the neanderthals in the "Stone" Age. If you survive, you
advance through five progressive eras, each with more difficult
adversaries such as outlaws in "High Saloon", army combatants in
"G.I. Guy", punks and hoodlums in "Dirty Magnum", and finally, green
alien Greebles in "Zap To The Future".
LINECRAS LINE CRASH : Yet another game from Andrei Ellman. This is a
competition game that can be played by up to eight (yes EIGHT)
players. The idea is to move around leaving trails (lines) and make
the other players crash into them.
LLAMATRN LLAMATRON: a shareware game designed and coded (in assembler) by Jeff
Minter, with 100 levels and some *wicked* sampled sound FX. LLAMATRON

hadn't guessed already, Manic Minefield is a new game based on an old
concept. The first game of its type was called MinedOut and was
available on the Spectrum in 1984. The most famous version, however,
and the one that this version is closest to, is Minesweeper for
Windows on the PC.
MARIANT Mariant, encore une reussite! version 1.0 by Jean-Etienne Doucet is a
Solitaire Cards Game. Mariant is a short form of "Marie Antoinette",

solitaire, or so says the legend...

VIERFREI Vierfrei: a card game by Jens Thoms Törring. At the start the pack
of cards is dealt out face up in eight columns of 7 and 6 cards. You
are allowed to move them following certain rules or to put them onto
to their final places, if possible. The game is solved when the
whole pack is sorted into four heaps in rising numbers for each suit.
VIOLENCE Violence, from Europe, is a mixture of Xenon, Galaxian, and Blood
money. The sound is good, the graphics are great, and the game play
is fast and furious. A great example of PD/Shareware software having
the same quality as commercial games. It was tested on a Mega 4 with
TOS 1.4.
VSQUARED Valgus^2 (pronounced "Valgus squared") is the sequel to Valgus, which
itself was a public domain version of Tetris. In VSQ, the seven
familiar Valgus pieces are back, but they are tired of falling
straight down the screen! Instead, they will come at you from all
four sides of the 27x27 playing area. In the middle of this area is
a solid 3x3 block. When a piece hits this block or any other pieces
that have fallen before it, it will become locked into that place,
and a new piece will drop from a randomly chosen side.
WC08A World Conquest by Alois Felber is a strategic game of war. The aim of
every player is, as the name suggests, to conquer the world. This
means producing military units, spreading his or her terretory,
and seeking to destroy the enemies. Includes an option to allow two
people to play via modem.
WELL_ARD Well Hard by Simon Scott and Ian Wilkinson. The object of the first
3 worlds is to collect the various objects from each level. Once you
have collected all the objects from that level then proceed to the
far right and touch the flashing exit sign. If the sign isn't
flashing then you haven't collected all of the objects.
WHEEL20 Wheel-Of-Fortune version 2.0 by Robert H. Pyle. This program was
written as a simulation of the Wheel-Of-Fortune television game show.
A very good implementation of the popular game show.
WINGLORD WingLord has the player in control of a knight mounted on a flying
unicorn. The joystick button flaps the unicorn's wings, and pushing
the stick to the side controls direction of walking and flight (if
done in conjunction with flapping the wings). Pulling back (down) on
the stick fires a missile weapon from the knight's lance, though this
is only available while in flight.
WYRDWAYS Wyrd Ways by Scott Drummond & Campbell Fraser is a game for 2 to 4

human player click on the face of the character you wish to play. To
choose a computer player click on 1 of the 3 computers below the

YAHOOGER This is the German version of Triple Yahoo 1.0. Although an English
manual is included in this copy of Triple Yahoo, the resource file is
only in German.
YAHTZEE Yahtzee version 2 by S. Martin is a good implementation of the
popular Yahtzee game.
YAMS Yams version 1.0 by Tom Clegg is a brain game (thinky, but not
strategy) in a window. If you've played MineSweeper, you know the
plot. Otherwise, use your Help key freely.
YUKON Yukon by Dirk Haun is a shareware card playing game. The program and
all documentation is in German.
