  3. What's new in Backward 2.70:

  5. - Many new patches, especially for GEM and LineA.
  6. - A NEW TOOL : PATCH.GTP. It allows you to modify your still
  7.  resisting programs.
  8. - A new sweedish distributor Sven Bornemark and a new sweedish version.
  9.   Just run BACKSWE.APP for having sweedish messages.
  10. - The exception table option has disappeared and is kept on (moved).
  11. - the 68030 options are now disabled in the non registered version.

  13. What's new in Backward 2.71:

  15. - Many small fixes. Especially, Microprose Golf works really now (a small bug
  16.   was still wandering).
  17. - More patches for programs.

  20. What's new in Backward 2.72:
  21. - A new patch for gemdos calls. Found thanks to Roger Cupif. By the way, Backward III already
  22.  includes a more efficient version of this patch.

  25. Sad News : Forget my Email address. It is useless.

  27. Very Good News : Backward III is on its way. The ehancer part is almost
  28.  rewritten. I am working now on new features !
  29.  New features already done :
  30.  - It allows up to 512Ko for 1Meg Falcons, 3.5 Meg for 4meg Falcons and 13.5
  31.    for 14Meg Falcons. If there is demand, a 768Ko mode will be done for 1Meg
  32.    Falcons.

  34.  - It is now resident until next COLD boot. With some restrictions, the set-up
  35.    will be altered accordingly to the launched program.

  37.  - You won't have to reboot to rerun Backward.

  39.  - The stack is more protected. A few more games available thanks to that.

  41.  - The memory space used is reduced in resident mode.

  43.  Features I am working on :
  44.  - Use of the Jag joystick for realtime configuration (it seems silly, but
  45.    using it is safer than the keyboard, believe me).

  47.  - Use of the Jag joystick as a normal joystick. It can be done at least for
  48.    system calls, but I am working on a full implementation.

  50.  - Allowing the TOS to run with caches and at 16Mhz, whatever may be the set-up
  51.    for the current program.

  53.  - Forcing programs to use hard disk instead of floppies (but do not expect too
  54.    much from this).
