  7.      This program edits the color desktop icons used in TOS
  8. versions 4.xx and greater. It does it by changing the DESKICON.RSC
  9. file (then you reboot). It will only work on a Falcon030 in 80
  10. column 16 color VGA resolution.

  12.      Before running the program it is best to turn off mouse
  13. acceleration to do the fine editing. You are initially prompted
  14. with a file selector to load the DESKICON.RSC file.

  16.         NOTE: USE A BACKUP DESKICON.RSC in case you mess up.

  18.      The top zoomed view is the icon in the unselected state. This
  19. is what the icon looks like sitting on the desktop. The bottom
  20. zoomed view is the icon in the selected state or when you click a
  21. desktop icon. These may be edited using the 16 colors shown. The
  22. two red icons below are the mask images.

  27. FILL - fills the selected (ICON 1) or (ICON 2) with a color
  28.        use white, color 0 to erase
  29.  
  30. COPY - copies the unselected(top) to the selected(bottom) icon
  31.  
  32. LOAD - loads new DESKICON.RSC to edit
  33.  
  34. SAVE - saves edited icons to DESKICON.RSC or other file
  35.  
  36. arrows - moves the selected (ICON 1) or (ICON 2) in any direction
  37.  
  38. ICON 1 - selects top zoomed icon for FILL and arrow commands
  39.  
  40. ICON 2 - selects bottom zoomed icon for FILL and arrow commands
  41.  
  42. TEST - flips between ICON 1 and ICON 1 just like on the desktop
  43.  
  44. EDIT MASK - switches between editing the color icons and their mask
  45.  
  46. AUTO MASK - creates a mask using the edited color icons

  49.      The mask editing is somewhat confusing to understand. A mask
  50. can be thought of as a shadow of the icon. If you want to see the
  51. desktop through the icon the color should be white(background). If
  52. you want to see the correct icon color the mask should be red.
  53. When editing the mask all colors except red will show as white.
  54. Usually you just have to click AUTO MASK and then fill in the
  55. white areas.
