  73. RAINBOW is an art package especially written for the powerful true colour
  74. mode on the Atari Falcon 030™. The program is aimed at all graphic artists
  75. who need a quick and effective art package to produce true colour (65536
  76. colours) pictures for games, demos, utilities or private use.
  77.  
  78. The program runs from either floppy or harddisk, and you don't have to
  79. change colour mode or resolution from the desktop, since RAINBOW
  80. automatically changes that (needless to say it also returns to the old
  81. desktop settings when you quit).

  83. RAINBOW only works with Falcon 030™.

  86. Since this is a demo version, you won't get a manual. Therefore you will
  87. have to guess how RAINBOW works (of course you'll get a manual when you buy
  88. the commercial version, where you also can save your pictures...), but at
  89. least we're able to reveal the following "hints":
  90.  
  91. You click on different functions with the left mouse button in order to
  92. activate them.
  93. But if you want to adjust the function's settings, you'll have to press
  94. the right button. Then a menu box appears where you can make some choices
  95. for that function. A "+" on any of the choice line means that there is a
  96. sub menu box that can be reached by pressing the right button on it.
  97.  
  98. Choice of colour is made using the "colour bars" or preferably the "quick
  99. choice palette", which can be altered by changing the colour in any of
  100. its "corner boxes".
  101. Note that RAINBOW uses 16 bit true colour (many other programs that work in
  102. true colour use in fact only 15 bits, resulting in half as many shades of
  103. green wich gives you only 32768 colours instead of 65536).

  105. Press the right button on "rgb" or "vga" in order to change the frequency
  106. and overscan (default is none overscan).
  107. WARNING! Do not set the vertical frequency to 76Hz or 54Hz without
  108. knowing for sure that your monitor can handle it (consult your monitor
  109. manual).
  110. If you happen to set a mode that your monitor can't handle, you may restore
  111. the default monitor settings by pressing the key 'help'.
  112.  
  113. RAINBOW 1.0 can manage to load *.TIF, *.TGA, *.TPI, *.NEO, *.PI? and *.PC?.
  114. Default is *.*, but if you want to load a specific format you may press
  115. the right button (instead of the left) on "load".

  117. If you want to enter the built-in photo studio just click on the yellow
  118. "go to another studio" box and change to "photo studio".
