  3. This group of files contains materials which are copyright 1992
  4. Zocra Technologies.

  6. This LZH file should contain the following files:
  7.   STYDEMO.PRG, STYDEMO.RSC      The STyle demonstration program.
  8.   STYLE.TXT                     The STyle press release/order form.
  9.   WHYSTYLE.TXT                  STyle/STipple comparison.
  10.   STIPPLE.TXT                   The STipple press release/order form.
  11. And the following sample image files:
  12.   WATERFAL.FL1                    A monochrome image.
  13.   HOUSE.FL4                        A 16 colour image.
  14.   BWLADY.PC1                    A 16 colour/grayscale image.
  15.   MANDARIN.FL8                    A 256 colour image.
  16.   ANGUS.FL8                        A 256 grayscale image.

  18. DEMO NOTES:
  19. This demo includes all of the features of STyle with the following
  20. exceptions:
  21.     Only Load Degas, Neochrome and Fast Load (.FL) work.
  22.     All file saves are disabled.
  23.     The "Render" command places a grid on the resulting image.
  24.  
  25. Although STYDEMO will not save a file it will allow you to check
  26. out the image save options. The options presented depend upon the
  27. filetype chosen. For example if the image is too large to be saved
  28. in a particular fixed sized format (such as NEO, Degas, TNY, MacPaint,
  29. or MacStartUpScreen) the file save clipping will be displayed and
  30. can be adjusted.

  32. STyle treats colour and grayscale images very differently. If some
  33. of the menu options are disabled it is because they do not apply to 
  34. the image type (colour or gray) currently being displayed. Some
  35. options apply to both colour and grayscale but have different
  36. options for each. For example "Render" has different dialogs for
  37. colour and grayscale.

  39. The on-screen image that appears when a file is loaded is often created
  40. using the fast routine, not the best routine. The 'Render' command
  41. gives complete control over resolution convertions.
  42.  
  43. Some features which are not obvious include:
  44.   Click and drag on an image to clip.
  45.   Functions keys flip between windows.
  46.   Arrow keys scroll windows.
  47.  
  48. NOTES ON EXAMPLE FILES:
  49.   WATERFAL    Try saving as MacPaint and MacStartupScreen.
  50.   HOUSE        Try saving as NEO, Degas or TNY.
  51.   BWLADY    STyle will detect that the image contains only grays
  52.             when it is loaded. Select the "Convert to grayscale"
  53.             option which appears during loading.
  54.   MANDARIN    Try rendering a 256 colour image in colour or
  55.             grayscale.
