  4. Demonstration Version of Silhouette Version 1.37
  5.  
  6. Thank you for your review of Silhouette, a powerful bit-image 
  7. and  vector graphics program with auto-tracing function  that 
  8. is offered at an exceptional price. 
  9.  
  10. Silhouette  Version  1.37  is  an  update  version  for   any 
  11. registered Silhouette users with version 1.25 or higher.  For 
  12. registered users on GEnie and Compuserve, update versions are 
  13. uploaded directly to users via electronic mail.
  14.  
  15. Two  versions  of  version 1.37 have  been  uploaded  to  the 
  16. bulletin  boards  - an ST version and a TT  version.  The  ST 
  17. version will run on any ST or TT machine,  but the TT version 
  18. is for the TT owners exclusive use.

  20. HOW SILHOUETTE RUNS
  21.  
  22. You must install GDOS at boot-up in order to run  Silhouette. 
  23. If you already have a GDOS program installed on your computer 
  24. system,  then Silhouette can share the ASSIGN.SYS file  setup 
  25. that is available.
  26.  
  27. Place the files - SILOETTE.PRG, SILOETTE.RSC, HELP.SIL in the 
  28. same directory path.  The last file is the demo's help  file. 
  29. Silhouette will ask you if you want to load the file.

  31. #### THE HELP MENU IS ENTERED BY HITTING THE HELP KEY #######

  33. Read the start of the help menu to get going. It is important 
  34. to recognize that drawing functions are started with a single 
  35. left mouse click, the object is shaped with the mouse buttons 
  36. up, move with the left button down, and finished with a right 
  37. mouse  button click.  Furthermore,  there are  many  exciting 
  38. features  available through the  CONTROL/ALTERNATE/SHIFT  key 
  39. combinations  and other keys as well.  Read the help file  to 
  40. learn them.

  42. Silhoette runs on any ST or TT with 1 MB or more of RAM,  and 
  43. in  ST High or TT High Resolution.  It will also run  on  the 
  44. Moniterm  monitor.   Two  versions  of  Silhouette  are   now 
  45. available - an ST version and an exclusive TT version.

  47. THE   ST  VERSION  TAKES  ADVANTAGE  OF  AN  INSTALLED   MATH 
  48. COPROCESSOR  AND  THE  TT  VERSION  RUNS  ONLY  WITH  A  MATH 
  49. COPROCESSOR INSTALLED.

  51. IMPROVEMENTS TO SILHOUETTE
  52.  
  53. Through  the developer support system at  Atari  Corporation, 
  54. Silhouette's developer has acquired a TT computer. Silhouette 
  55. has  now been thoroughly tested on the TT as well as the  ST. 
  56. Also it has been tested in TT high resolution.

  58. Many  features have been added to Silhouette since  the  last 
  59. demo  (version 1.07) was uploaded and many new features  have 
  60. appeared even since version 1.25.

  62. GEM file handling has been greatly improved. The creation and 
  63. editing of bezier curves has been totally renovated. 
  64.  
  65. WITH  SMOOTHING  'ON' AND SET TO 4 PT  BEZIER,  THE  POLYLINE 
  66. FUNCTION  CREATES  BEZIER CURVES. DEPRESSING  THE  LEFT  MOUSE 
  67. BUTTON AND DRAGGING THE MOUSE SETS THE END POINT AND  CREATES 
  68. A BEZIER SEGMENT.

  70. The  use of Bezier curves in the auto-tracing  functions  has 
  71. been improved.  'Polyline Edit' edits not just polylines  but 
  72. b-splines and beziers.  Beziers,  when edited,  will have the 
  73. tangental lines of the control points displayed.

  75. Graphics  output is in the formats:  SGF  (Silhouette),  GEM, 
  76. GEM3, EPS, DXF and IMG bit-image.

  78. Graphics  input  is  in  the  formats:  SGF,  GEM,  GEM3  and 
  79. MacPaint, IMG, DEGAS, TINY bit-image formats.
