The Video/Rental-Pro System UPDATE.DOC File...
These are the Noteworthy Items for End Users that have been added since the
Version 5.00 Manual was composed. Any updates not mentioned here were made
to correct a minor or cosmetic problem or increase internal efficiency.
V5.00B-The General Ledger History File Trimming and Indexing has been made
much faster. (MODULE #3 REQUIRED)
V5.01 -A couple of bugs have been squashed and cosmetics repaired.
V5.01A-Prior to this version you had to Wipe Out the Old Returned Rental
Records before being able to mark any rental inventory items for
deletion. This has now been corrected.
V5.01C-A default has been added to single user versions that controls
whether or not the program automatically generates the transaction
numbers or stops and prompts the user for their specific invoice
numbers. SINGLE USER VERSION ONLY!
V5.01D-Fixed a small bug that would not allow the user to add `~` specified
Service or Intangible items in the Sales Inventory #2.
V5.01E-Added the prompt 'Count Toward Bonus ?' during transactions if you
have the bonus count feature activated.
-Deleted records now appear on the 'User Designed' Inventory and
Customer lists and are indicated by an asterisk preceding the line
information. Enter 'deleted()' in the search criteria filter lines
for just the deleted records and 'not deleted()' for only the items
not marked for deletion.
V5.01F-A New Default setting has been added where the user can specify a
Reason For Transfer that will be available when transferring pieces
from either inventory.
-The Overdue Rentals Report to the printer has been expanded to be
much more informative.
-The Customer History List has a new screen prompt where the user can
specify whether the Inventory Item ID or Name is to be displayed on
the generated activity history list.
V5.01G-The SUPER KWIK 2 Process has been dramatically streamlined during
the kwik sale line item entry routine.
V5.22 -Rentals can now be selected for return processing by Customer I.D.
or by Item I.D. at the user's discretion.
-Most lists and data processing chores have been re-written to
dramatically increase the through-put speed.
-A minimum payment, calculated by a user designated percentage of
the open balance, has been added to the Receivables section and
statements available from the Accounts Receivable section.
-Records marked for deletion now appear on Inventory and Customer
lists and are preceded with an asterisk. If you want to list only
the records marked for deletion type 'DELETED()' in the search
criteria line input. To list only the active or not deleted records
type 'NOT DELETED()' in the search criteria input line.
-A new error trapping and recovery system has replaced the old one.
The new system gives much more diagnostic information to the user
should an unusual interuption or computer failure occur.
-Payment type descriptions have been added to the forty column
printed output generated by Video/Rental-Pro.
-The <Esc> key has been enabled to provide an abort during most list
generating and processing functions going to the printer device.
-Single item labels can now be printed from the Change/Delete
sections of either the Rental Inventory or Sales Inventory.
-New maintenance features for the history or library files includ-
ing re-indexing for all systems and back-ups on PC's and LAN's which
accesses and uses your resident DOS backup utility.
-Many, many improvements and additions have been incorporated into
the Accounts Payable MODULE #2 and the General Ledger MODULE #3.
-A New Utility has been added to ACCESSORY #1 'Utilities' to enable
the user to check and update, if necessary, the history or library
files found at the location set in the main program defaults. Use
UPDT_HIS to achieve this task. This new utility is run in the same
manner as the other utilities in the Accessory #1 Library.
