* The-Box v1.90.02 *
* *
*************************************************************************
Introduction.
-------------
This version of TB has a number of changes. You will notice the
different user interface, but some other changed have been made too.
This document only describes the most important ones. A document/message
describing everything in more detail will follow asap.
[ I suggest strongly you connect to TB_BETA for the latest news. ]
The 1.90.02 version is not a final version. Many changes have to be made.
This version is for evaluation of the new user interface. Comments
(but no flames) are welcome at the addresses listed at the end of this file.
The command line.
-----------------
Two command line arguments have been added:

need to use this option when you're using CanED.
If this option is not specified The-Box will abort when
errors are found in the config file.
[ Also available as config statement! ]
The configuration file.
-----------------------
This version of The-Box will abort if an error was found in your
configuration. Keywords used in previous versions of The-Box which
are no longer used in the new version (like node, baud etc) are

The-Box version 1.90.05
ADDITIONS TO READ.ME FOR The-Box 1.90.02
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. Missing
The READ.ME for version 1.90.02 did not mention the NEED to delete
TB.SCD (in the same dir your config is in). Omnision corrected....
(Only needed when upgrading from a < 1.90 version)
2. Function keys
As several people noticed the function keys are no longer defined to exit
with an errorlevel. If you want this feature you'll have to program it
yourself using the appkey construction. To have F1 exit with errorlevel 10
you should enter the next line in your config:
appkey 13b 031 *10 Import Mail F1
For Alt-E to call the editor:
appkey 112 045 e:\bbs\caned.ttp Message Editor Alt-E
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ String in window
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ path + name executable
^^^ hex value of char for selection in window
^^^ hex scan value of key (add 100h for alt)
3. New
New for this version of The-Box (or better reintroduced for ST users) is
the SpecEsc. When The-Box is waiting for a user of a mailer to introduce
itself all incomming charaters are matched against the string. When a
total match is found (got all characters without timeouts and/or garbage)
The-Box will exit with errorlevel 31.
4. Fixed bugs
In this new version several bugs are fixed. The most important ones are:
- TB exits with an error when your event file isn't correct.
- No strange characters at exit (monochrome only).
- Bark request buffer overflow check added.
The-Box version 1.91.01
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
The-Box 1.91.01 is almost identical to version 1.90.05 with only a few
minor changes. The most important change is:
- Added support for configurable communication buffers. By SETting the
environment variable BUFFER to a value between 0 and 20 the size of
the comm-buffer may be changed. [Default is 4.]
The value is the number of KILObytes used for the buffers
(recieve and send buffers have the same size).
[So the default is size is 4 Kb].
Example:
Add 'SET BUFFER=16' to your batch file to create 16Kb buffers.
----------------
The-Box v1.95
Release version. No complains about the beta's for a long time, so I guess
it's save to release this version.
An additional bug has been fixed and The-Box also runs on TT's now. Use ST
medium of high mode for your display.
Last minute remarks:
- Use ESC to active the menu.
- Use Alt-Z for help concerning the keys. A future version will have a more
consistent user interface.
