JetMail versions history
========================
Version PL Date Changes
--------------------------------------------------------------------
0.99beta 15.01.94 - All areatags except the special areas are
converted to uppercase. Too many people have
complained about the case sensitivity.
- All demokey restrictions (some functions
wouldn't work with demokeys) removed.
Demokey users should be able to test all
functions of JetMail before paying for it.
- Documentation updated.
- I/O error while creating dummypackets fixed.
- Cruncher total remaining message fixed. Bug
occured when having more than 32000 messages
in the message base.
0.99beta 02 16.01.94 - Problems with DummyPacket creating DPT files
fixed. I start hating Binkley! :-)
- Case sensitivity in AreaFix removed.
0.99beta 03 20.01.94 - You can now remove an area from [D]AREAS.BBS
by stating
REMOVE=<areaname>
All links of that area get an AreaFix
disconnect request and a small note appended.
- Domain parsing in UseAlias statements in
CONFIG.JM and [D]AREAS.BBS fixed.
- Hopefully fixed the QBBS lastread pointer
bug. Please check.
0.99beta 04 27.01.94 - Cruncher debugging log message fixed. Hope
that help's finding out what's wrong.
[I'll thank god when this f**cking lastread
bug is finally fixed!]
- AreaFix list bug fixed.
- Demokey decryption routine bug fixed. It was
pure luck that ANY of the demokeys worked!
JetMail now displays the expiration date
while start-up.
- REMOVE=<area> works now. The notify messages
now get the Kill/Sent message flag.
0.99beta 05 20.03.94 - FSC-0045 packet output corrected (domains in
header were scrambled).
- REMOVE= now case insensitive.
- AKA adding now adds all aliases in all domains
used in the export list of the specific area.
- Writing of the -NoCPP flag to automatically
added areas in DAREAS.BBS fixed.
- Relinking of areas after automaticly
disconnecting within five days now works.
- NoConnect now implies -NoForce for the
specified systems.
- You can now use '+' instead of a forward list
with RemoteAreaFix to mark the default forward
host. If you define more than one default
host in a certain domain, the last one is
choosen.
- The disconnect message generated by REMOVE=
doesn't contain the notification after the
tearline anymore.
- REPORT bombed if the dupe and trash area
weren't defined.
- REMOVE= bombed if trying to remove passthrough
area.
- The import module now interpretes the DOMAIN
kludge lines.
- The new syntax for netmails via JetMail's
internal domain gateway is now:
To: <name> % <address>
The gated messages now gets a unique MSGID
of the gating system. The original MSGID is
kept in an ORIGID kludge.
- A passthrough area is now never automatically
removed if -GateTo is used.
- New AREAS.BBS flag -NoRemote. Similar to
-ForceConnect/-NoForce, -NoRemote is the
negation of -Remote. This statement works
only in conjunction with -Remote.
- The default MaxMsgs is now 1500 due to LED's
problems with areas with more than 1500 msgs.
- Handling of local AreaFix messages fixed.
- Small bug in AreaFix arealist output fixed
(mixed upper-/lowercase group letters).
- Now, all demokeys work.
- Checks for "unprocessable addresses" removed
while importing.
- Announce area names were forced uppercase.
- Checking for corrupted header while scanning
the netmail area implemented.
- New CONFIG.JM statement MinCrunch <count>
which prevents JetMail from crunching an area
in which less than <count> messages are to
delete.
- Announce mails are now registered as new and
unread mail in LED's area dialog.
- Keyword "MaxBuffer" replaced by "KeepMemory"
to set how much memory should be kept free
for the archiver programs. The default is
to keep 200KB free. Example:
KeepMemory 500
This keeps 500KB free memory.
- Old KAOS/Mag!x/MultiTOS problem fixed which
caused an "file access denied" under certain
circumstances when starting JetMail with the
parameters IMPORT SCAN.
- New ExitInfo version released. Adds FILEFIX
flag for JetMail's forthcoming FileFix feature
and VERSION to test ExitInfo's version number.
- New JetStat version. Bugs with high message
counts fixed. Areatags are now cut if being
longer than the column size in ECHOMAIL.HIS
- When creating message base filenames for
automatically added areas, 00-99 instead of
0-9 is now appended to already existing names.
- New area flags "-OriginalEcho <name>" to specify
the name of the area under which the area is
known to the network. So you can run Usenet's
COMP.SYS.ATARI.ST under CSAST by defining:
-OriginalEcho COMP.SYS.ATARI.ST
G:\MSGBASE\INTERNET\CSAST CSAST 2:2456/95@fidonet.org
So, LED users are able to distinguish very
long area names.
- Daniel Roesen's NeST address has changed to
90:400/602@nest.ftn, please update your
address lists!
- New ROUTE.JM statement:
USE-ALIAS <alias> <patterns...>
This one advises JetMail to use <alias> as
From-address in netmail messages destinated
to systems which match the specified patterns.
Especially implemented for Albi! :-)
0.99beta 06 28.03.94 - Changed ReAddress logging so that the notice
is logged AFTER the "Netmail...".
- New ReAddress optional parameter "NoNotify"
to disable the notice in the netmail that this
netmail was re-addressed. This flag is useful
for gateway-readdressing.
- JetMail now forces setting up all three inbound
pathes as there were too many problems with
having just one.
- JetMail's scanner now supports K/Sent message
attribute.
- ARCmail extraction bug fixed.
- I forgot to mention in the last update's
readme to mention that ZOOmail works now.
0.99beta 07 31.03.94 - I forgot to mention, that -NoForce works now.
- Import statistic output concerning number of
dupes & trashed messages fixed.
- JetStat's TOP10.TXT output fixed. The right
border of the box was too far left when having
less that 10 areas.
- -OriginalEcho bug fixed. Should work now.
- ExitInfo utility fixed.
0.99beta 08 17.04.94 - ARCmail bug fixed, NOW! :-(
- Removed areas via REMOVE=<name> are now
announced in the corresponding announce echo(s).
- Netmail scanner bug concerning local AreaFix
messages fixed.
- JetMail's netmail gateway understands now both
To: formats, the one with '%' and the one without.
- JetMail now keeps the time of the last run
in a file LASTRUN.SYS in his system folder
to check if JetMail wasn't executed in the
last 14 days. If this happens, JetMail aborts
with a corresponding message.
- ReAddress parser bug fixed.
- Bug in LED.NEW writing appearing when using
the -OriginalEcho feature fixed.
- You can now send crashmail to points which
are links of your system but don't carry the
CrashOK flag. The Crashmail is then redirected
to the boss of this point.
- Areas in which messages to sysop were imported
which were purged are not marked '*' in LED
anymore. Also, former versions marked the
netmail area with '*' although the netmails
to you were readdressed to your sysop point.
0.99beta9 12.07.94 - CONFIG.JM re-writing fixed.
- Supervise will now outline the network from/to
addresses when processing netmail messages.
- MonitorAreaFix renamed to MonitorFix.
- Default KeepMemory set to 400kB
- Maximum number of areas in forwarding lists
set to 8192.
- Bug fixed which caused JetMail to output
messages to the screen under some circumstances.
- JetMail screwed up automatic AreaFix requests
following a forwarded area request when using
a special area password.
- My address has changed:
Daniel Roesen 2:2454/114@fidonet.org
This is now an official FidoNet address and
so I'm worldwide listed again.
- MSGID CRC calculation for local messages
fixed.
- Local ReAddress bug fixed.
- Half-dynamical file handling system. This will
be improved in further versions.
- The CONFIG.JM "Address" parsing code bombed
when an address like
90:400/602nest.ftn
was specified (the '@' sign was left out).
- CONFIG.JM statement "NoCopy" replaced by
"Robots". see updated JETMAIL.TXT.
All names specified after "Robots" are now
known as automatic mail creators, so JetMail
doesn't react if using -Signature,
VacationDate or MonitorNetmail.
Please re-read manual sections concerning
VacationDate, NoSignature and Robots.
- The maximum of areas in a forward list was
raised to 8192. This should be enough for
UseNet uplinks.
- Default import buffer size raised from 2KB
to 8KB.
