  1. $ Escape commands
  2.  
  3. In Pandora's text files many possible $ escapes are possible. In the
  4. now following text I will give a short summary of the valid escapes and
  5. what the expanded result will be.
  6.  
  7. $$    Output a single $ (version 2.39+)
  8. $q    Display a quote to the user. Requires a QUOTE.BBS file (See Fido doc.)
  9. $c    Disables ^C for user, so text will be printed uninterrupted.
  10. $C    Reenables ^C. ser may break out of text printing.
  11. $l    Disable LOGfile. no more input to logfile.
  12. $L    Enable LOGfile. Everything users types goes to LOGfile.
  13. $n    Display how many times a user called. (number)
  14. $N    Display how many times BBS was called.
  15. $r    Display how much the user uploaded. (in Kbytes)
  16. $R    Display how much the user downloaded. (in Kbytes)
  17. $u    Display the entire username.
  18. $p    Display the user city.
  19. $v    Display the current Pandora version (x.xx)
  20. $b    Displays the BULLETIN.BBS file (do not use in BULLETIN.BBS!)
  21. $o    Displays how many minutes the user is on system.
  22. $K    Clear the user console.
  23. $h    Turns invert video mode off.
  24. $H    Turns invert video mode on.
  25. $T    Display the last time the current user called (hh:mm:ss)
  26. $D    Display the last date the current user called (yy mmm dd)
  27. $t    Display the current time (hh:mm:ss)
  28. $d    Display the current date (yy mmm dd)
  29. $m    Place a marker in the LOGfile (=============================)
  30. $f    Displays the current users first name.
  31. $i    Ask the user for a line and places in directly in the LOGfile.
  32. $s    Displays the name of the SYSOP. Installed with CONFIG.

  35. Do not use the % escapes. These are used internally and require use of
  36. the internal stack. Unpredictable numbers will be displyed!

  38. The different files in Pandora.arc:
  39.  
  40. In the Pandora.arc file are many files stored in the famous ARC format.
  41. Unfortunatly Pandora doesn't know about de-encription, so the files MUST be
  42. stored. Use ARC s or PSARC but not PKARC because PKARC will not store!

  44. Filename        Meaning
  45. --------        ---------------------------------------------
  46. ADDRESS.HLP        Help file when entering a Network address (in Msgs)
  47. ANSWER.BBS        Questionaire may contain questions a sysop wants
  48.             to know. Answer places in LOGfile. (see $ codes)
  49. BULLETIN.BBS        Main bulletin. Used by local sysop to place daily
  50.             messages for the users. (Holidays, shutdown...)
  51. CHANGE.HLP        Help file used in Change menu (in Main area)
  52. EDITOR.BBS        Editorial, ought to be a long help file for users
  53. ENTER.HLP        Help file used in Enter menu (in Msgs area)
  54. FILE.HLP        Help file used in File menu
  55. INTRO000.BBS        Intro, may contain specific user information
  56. LOGOUT.BBS        Last thing the user sees.....
  57. MAIN.HLP        Help file used in Main menu
  58. MSGS.HLP        Help file used in Msgs menu
  59. NEWMEM.BBS        Printed when a new user logs in.
  60. NEWMEM1.BBS        Used after the new user has given his Name and address
  61. UPDOWN.HLP        Help file used in Up/Download (in File area)
  62. WELCOME.BBS        Printed when a user calls in.
