Requirements
------------
Really the only thing you must have is an Atari computer, of course, and
TripLink BBS software.
SysOp Configuration
-------------------
Step #1:The first thing you need do is place the FMAIL11A.PRG program file in
the place of your choice. You may put it anywhere on your drive that is most
convienient for you. There are no required foldernames.
Step #2:The next step is to create a configuration file. The program will not
operate without this file. In order to create it, ensure that no one is
online and then run the FILEMAIL.PRG program file. You will then be immediatly
confronted with an alert box notifying you the absence of the configuration
file, at this time click on the CREATE box. At this time you will be cycled
through a series of Fileselect boxes prompting you to select specific files
and paths. Afterwards, the file will be saved in the root of the current drive.
This location is necessary in order for the filemail check program to operate
correctly.
*!NOTE!*Be careful to actually click on the specific file when the
configuration fileselect box asks to 'LOCATE' a filename, and only the path
when it asks to 'Designate ... Path'!
*Also please make sure that you have the BBS update TRIPINFO.DAT before
running the MAILCHEK.PRG. If you do not know how to do this, consult the
BBS documentation.
Option 6 on the file transfer menu is SysOp send, this allows the SysOp to
sendn file mail to users. This simply copies the file from the original
location on your drive to the appropriate location and treats it as if it where
an uploaded file from there out.
Optional Menus
--------------
There is a built in 80 column ASCII menu. This menu is called the 'Default
Internal Menu'. These words are visable on the SysOp side of the menu only.
However, there are slots within the program that allow the SysOp to create
their own menus for each translation. You do not have to make all of the menus
in order for this option to work, if a menu translation is not found for the
user online, the program will default to the internal menu.
The file names for the menus are as follows:
ASCII.MNU Ascii Menu
VT52COLR.MNU VT-52 Color Menu
VT52MONO.MNU VT-52 Mono Menu
ANSI.MNU ANSI Color Menu
IG.MNU Instant Graphics Menu
User Operation (From Main Menu)
--------------
Option 1:Fairly self explanatory command prompts here for sending F-mail. With
the handle search, you may enter a partial handle and the program will display
all handles containing your search string.
Option 2:Again, simple prompts to receive any available mail.
Option 3:Quits and returns to the BBS.
Registration
------------
These files are free to distribute so long as the text files and program files
remain fully intact. (ie No changes, additions, or subtractions) Though the
program is functional without registration, it is advisable that you do
register it. Without registration, you will not receive bug fixes, updated
versions, or new TripLink related software that is made available in the
future. Upon registering, you will receive the latest copy of the software
directly registered to your BBS. Send what you feel the program is really
worth to you.
Bugs & Limitations
------------------
I'm sure that there are some bugs in this program. If and when you find these
bugs, please report them. Registered SysOps will immediately receive a fix.
This program has been successfully tested on TripLink versions up to 7.2 .
Though this program should also work on most versions earlier than 5.0, the
earliest versions of TripLink are not compatible. You will know right away if
it's not going to work. Trust me.

locating a very nasty bug!
Update 1.1A September 29, 1993
------------------------------
With the introduction of the 64 bit format of TripLink BBS there have been
changes that caused Filemail v1.1 to crash. Therefore, I have remedied this
problem with version '1.1A'. If you previously ran v1.1, you not need to
make any changes, FMAIL11A will auto sense if it is being run on a 64 or 32 bit
TripLink and adjust itself accordingly.
