How to use Areamanager v1.2 ?
This programm makes it possible for you to connect and disconnect echomail
areas from your Boss or Hub. You don't need to install the program yourself
this is allready done on your Boss' or Hub's system. All you need to do is
use it.....
One thing is neccesary, a password, you probably have allready set this up
with your boss or hub, if not contact him first, there is no way you can
use Areamanager without a password! apart from the password, you also need
to know the name of your boss' or hubs areamanager, normally "areafix"
will do, but this name can also be changed by your boss.
How to (dis)connect areas:
==========================
Write a NETMAIL message to Areafix on 1:234/567.0 (other number of course)
On the subject-line you put the password you set up with your uplink.
To connect an area you put the names of the echomailareas you want to
connect in the message text, (only 1 name on each line).
To disconnect an area put a - in front of the areaname in the message
text.
Example:
=========================================================================
Msg #59 / 1 - 60 Time: 11 Dec 91 14:25:56
From: Marcel Sacksen
To : Areafix on 2:281/801
Subj: password
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
ATARI.ABC
N_SANDW
SYSOPS.028
-FS_FAN
-PENPAL
-MSDOS.028
=========================================================================
This message connects you to ATARI.ABC, N_SANDW, and SYSOPS.028, while at
the same time you disconnect from FS_FAN, PENPAL, and MSDOS.028
After you have sent the message to your uplink, you will get a report-
netmail message (next time you poll) in which you will find the results
of your areafix commands. In this message you will also get a list of all
the available echomailareas from your uplink.
If you dont want to get this report message, just add the command: %NOLIST
to the message text.
It is also possible that your Boss or Hub shut off report-message option,
so you will never get any confirmation of your areafix commands, in this
case it is possible to force a report-message by entering the %LIST
command to the message text.
Well this is all there is to it..... Piece of cake isn't it?
If you have any problems, contact your Boss or Hub, he/she should be able
to solve your problem.
Bye for now, and enjoy areamanager!
