  5.      Thank you for taking the time to acquire this shareware copy 
  6. of Marcel Word Processor v2.3, and for reading this READ.ME 
  7. file.  (If you wish, you may print this file; it fills up two 
  8. pages.)
  9.      Marcel Word Processor is packed with features that users 
  10. love.  Marcel WP is super-easy to learn and to use for virtually 
  11. all of your writing needs.

  13.      NEW USERS: If you received a complete shareware bundle (as 
  14. should be the case), then no special installation is needed, 
  15. with the exception of the spell-check file, which is now bundled 
  16. separately.  Rename either the MAR_SYSA.DIC file (American 
  17. spelling list) or the MAR_SYSB.DIC file (British) to 
  18. MAR_SYS.DIC; the spell-check feature is not recommended on 
  19. diskette-only systems.  You now have the full version--there are 
  20. no keys or features to "turn on."
  21.      UPDATE USERS: The FILELIST file shows which files have 
  22. changed since v2.2.  You can keep all your old CFG, PFN, etc. 
  23. files.  We recommend keeping the entire (uncustomized) v2.3 
  24. release together in a separate directory--to copy for your 
  25. fellow Atari users.  For full update info, read the NEW_IN_2.3 
  26. file.

  28.      Please feel free to make copies of Marcel WP v2.3 for your 
  29. friends, or to upload it to your favorite BBS, or to include it 
  30. on your club disk.  We ask only that you copy the entire set of 
  31. original files (listed in the FILELIST file), not files that you 
  32. have customized.

  34.      To experience Marcel WP v2.3 right away, start up 
  35. MARCEL.PRG.  Then, using "Open existing" (in the File menu) to 
  36. load the included SAMPLE file, which will step you through many 
  37. of Marcel's features.

  39.      If you like Marcel WP v2.3 and want to use it regularly 
  40. (like more than three times), you're obligated to register with 
  41. Marcel Software as a shareware user.  The registration fee is 
  42. only $10 (somewhat more for overseas users).  When we receive 
  43. your payment, we'll send you Marcel User Documentation and a 
  44. registration certificate with your name on it.  The 
  45. documentation explains all of the features and contains handy 
  46. hints for getting the most out of your new word processor.  Also 
  47. included is a free function-key guide.
  48.      Registered users get free technical support--others get 
  49. none.
  50.      Only one user in each home or office needs to be registered.  
  51. (The fee is waived for schools, but registration is still 
  52. required and it only covers use of Marcel WP v2.3 on campus.)
  53.      If you already registered for v2.2, there is no need to 
  54. re-register and pay another fee, unless you want a new 
  55. certificate, documentation, and function-key guide.
  56.      Marcel WP v2.3 is copyrighted software; the full shareware 
  57. agreement is printed in the manual.

  98.      IMPORTANT NOTE:  Please do not include technical questions 
  99. in your registration letter.  The Marcel User Documentation will 
  100. probably answer your questions.  Our Tech Support department, 
  101. now separate from our Registration department, handles all 
  102. questions and comments--if they're part of your registration 
  103. letter, then the shipment of your documentation and certificate 
  104. will be delayed.
  105.      ALSO PLEASE NOTE:  Marcel Software does not provide its 
  106. shareware on diskettes.  Please do not send blank diskettes.  
  107. Copies of Marcel WP are available at little or no cost from 
  108. various shareware sources: GEnie, Delphi, HENSA, magazine disks, 
  109. SuzyBee, your local Atari BBS, user groups, fellow users, etc.  
  110. Shareware providers, such as Marcel, are a valuable source of 
  111. quality software at a low cost.  Please support them by 
  112. acquiring your software from the above sources (the "share" in 
  113. shareware) and registering!
