  1. Thank you for checking out the demo version of The Grocery Lister 
  2. version 4.0.  I have not included any documentation with this 
  3. demo, but you will find the program very easy to operate using the 
  4. standard GEM menus.  To see how the program works, load the sample 
  5. grocery file by selecting 'Open Grocery File...' under the 'File' 
  6. menu.  To build a grocery list, click on the desired items in the 
  7. grocery file window using the left mouse button.  To delete an 
  8. item from the list, click on the desired item with the right mouse 
  9. button.  This also works in the list window after an item has been 
  10. added to the list.

  12. Additional key commands available from the main screen are 
  13. as follows:  ( ^key is used to indicate CONTROL+key)
  14.              ( +key is used to indicate SHIFT+key)
  15.      
  16.      [TAB]  - With the grocery file window active, the TAB key will
  17.               toggle the coupon reminder field of the selected item.
  18.      +[TAB] - With the grocery file window active, this will toggle
  19.               the taxable field of the selected item.
  20.      [HELP] - With the grocery file window active, the HELP key will
  21.               bring up the EDIT dialog the same as selecting the EDIT
  22.               ITEM command in the EDIT menu or pressing ^E.
  23.      A to Z - With the grocery file window active any key A to Z can
  24.               be pressed to cause items beginning with the selected
  25.               letter to be displayed when the file is sorted by Item 
  26.               name.  When the file is sorted by either category or 
  27.               location, the display will jump to the first entry in 
  28.               that field beginning with the selected letter.

  31. The grocery list window can be made active by pressing the INSERT 
  32. key and the grocery file window can be made active by pressing the 
  33. CLR/HOME key.

  35. Arrow keys can be used for scrolling in any window.

  37. All windows can be paged up or paged down by pressing SHIFT plus 
  38. UP arrow or SHIFT plus DOWN arrow keys respectively.  The Grocery 
  39. List window and the ASCII file window can also be paged up and 
  40. down by pressing the LEFT or RIGHT arrow keys, respectively.

  42. Items in the list can be immediately deleted from the list (even 
  43. if the quantity is greater than one) by holding the control key 
  44. and clicking the right mouse button on the item in either window.

  46. Finally, when the grocery file window is active, you can call up 
  47. the Edit Dialog for a given item by holding the control key and 
  48. clicking the right mouse button on the selected item.  See the 
  49. EDIT menu section for details of editing grocery items.
