  1. THE COMIC BOOK COLLECTOR   VERSION 2.0

  3.   To those Atari owners and comic collectors, you are about to
  4. try the ultimate comic database when it comes to simplicity and
  5. thoroughness.  Collecting, sorting, cataloging, listing, reading,
  6. scanning, updating your collection is only a key or mouse press away.
  7.  
  8.   This demo of The Comic Book Collector is full featured.  That means it does everything the complete program does, except save files to the disk.  If you purchase the complete version you will be able to save your files, of course.  You will also receive a printed manual and a free comic collector's card.

  10.   All this for the price of $10.00 plus $1.00 for postage.

  12.   There is no manual included with this demo but the menu is quite intuitive, if you play around with it you will get to sample most of the features that are visible.

  23. Since this is not a major upgrade to the program, I am offering the
  24. new version (see changes below) to any previous owner of the program
  25. for FREE.  Please send me your original disk and $1.00 to cover postage, and I will copy the new version to your disk and return it to you.  Thank you for your support in the past.

  29. This version of The Comic Book Collector has a couple of changes
  30. for the earlier version.

  32. --  Address in the header box has been changed to reflect our 
  33.     new address.  Sorry to those users who could not contact me
  34.     at the old address, but the US Postal service would not
  35.     forward to my new address, little did I know.
  36.  
  37. --  Some users complained that they had to keep entering the
  38.     same title of the comic book over and over and that a feature
  39.     that would remember the title would be helpful.  Now at the
  40.     title (after you have already entered one title of the same
  41.     name), simply enter a tilde ~ at the prompt for the title and
  42.     tap the RETURN key, and the previous title will be restored.

  45. --  While scanning title on the screen, you may now tap the Q
  46.     key to stop scanning and return to the menu.

  48. --  Title screen has been fixed up a little.

  50. Important bug has come up, although only one person of the many
  51. who have purchased the program, has encountered it.  If you keep
  52. your comic book bases in separate folders, this is alright.  But
  53. don't use an extender on the folder.  This will mess up the load
  54. feature of the program.

  56.   For example, if you have a folder  STARTREK.DOC that you will
  57. keep your .CMC and .DAT files in, change the name to STARTREK --
  58. Do not use an extender.

  60. Also it is a good idea not to bury your catalog base of comics in
  61. any more than one folder.
