- ** Upgrade Instructions For Owners of Previous Versions:
- If you have an older version of NoteWorthy Composer, you
- should install this new version into a different directory
- or folder. If you currently have version 1.21d, you can easily
- remove this older version using the NWREMOVE utility included
- in that package. If you want to keep the older versions, this
- is fine as long as you do not run older versions at the same
- time as this new version.
-
- ** Installation Instructions:
- If you have received the NWC files in an archive such as a
- ZIP file, extract the files into either a temp directory on your
- hard drive, or onto a dedicated diskette.
-
- Run the SETUP application that is contained in this directory
- or diskette that you created. For example, if you extracted the
- application files into a disk in drive A: then from the Program
- Manager you would select the Run command from the File menu, type
- A:\SETUP and press enter.
-
- Once SETUP starts executing, just follow the prompts. After the
- install is complete, an on-line context sensitive help file can
- guide you the rest of the way.
-
- ** Installation Problems:
- The SETUP utility tests most of the files that are installed to
- make that they have not been corrupted or subject to tampering
- prior to their installation. If you get an error during
- installation which indicates a changed or corrupted file, you
- may experience problems with the product after it is installed.
- In this case, you may want to check with our support services
- to see how you can download or acquire a new copy. The fee for
- mailing a diskette with the latest Shareware version is currently
- US $7, payable directly to us as described in the "How to Order"
- section of the help file.
-
- It is also possible that the SETUP utility is experiencing
- problems installing the application files onto your system even
- if the source files have not been corrupted. Some disk caching
- utilities may cause this to happen. If you are using a disk
- caching utility on your system, and you experience difficulties
- during the SETUP process, then try running SETUP from a clean
- boot. This involves rebooting your system without such that
- the disk cache is not loaded.
-
- ** A Note About Future Upgrades
- We may, from time to time, release new updates that enhance the
- software base included in this version of NoteWorthy Composer.
- These updates will be provided as *.UPG files, which can be
- processed by the enclosed NoteWorthy Updater application. As
- with any new issue of NoteWorthy Composer, we will notify all
- "wired" customers via e-mail when an update is made available
- online.
