Before converting your file (from v2.x) for using in Music+ 3.4, make sure the songs are not being cross-referenced. Example, an album showing the songs of another album, or the wrong song count. This error was created when one of the following was done in Music+ 2.x:
1) Several albums were added without the songs and then the songs
were added later to the albums in a different order than the
order the albums were added.
2) An album with songs was deleted when an album with no songs existed
in a higher order than the one deleted.
A utility for fixing this cross-referencing is included here. That utility is 'FIX11.EXE'.
USIN THE 'FIX' UTILITY
----------------------
To use the utility, open your file, click on any desired album, and the first song for that album that is stored in the file will be highlighted (and shown in the 'First Song"' box). The song count for that album will also be shown in the the 'Song Count' box. I suggest starting with the first album and using the down arrow key on the keyboard to check each album. If you see some cross referencing, then just click on the song that should be the First song. If the song count has to be changed then enter the new song count in the box provided. Then click on the 'Change' button. If you can't readily see the song you are looking for, then use the song search utility.
USING THE SONG SEARCH UTILITY
-----------------------------
To use the search utility, click on 'Search Song', type the song or part of the song you are searching for in the box provided and click 'OK'. If your string exists in the Song Database, then those songs that meet your criteria will be shown in the 'Song List'. Click on the song that you are looking if it appears in the 'Song List' and then click on the 'Found' button. The song you chose from the 'Song List' will be highlighed in the main window.
FILE SAVING
-----------
When the file is saved, it's saved with the same name but different extension. The extension will be '.001'. This is to avoid over-writing the original file. When you go into Music+ to check the "Fixed" file, look for '*.001" instead of '*.MSC'. If everything is OK, save your file with the extension '.MSC' and delete the one with '001'.
ADDITIONAL NOTES
----------------
The fix utility will only work with files created with versions 2.x of Music+.
After your file looks correct, you can delete the fix utility along with this file.
