- TG33.DK Help File
-
- Loading in the file TG33.DK will setup Band-in-a-Box for the Yamaha
- TG33 multi-timbral synthesizer module.
-
- It will setup:
- 1. Drum #'s for the Yamaha TG33 module.
- 2. General Midi Patch Map (assigned to factory settings of the TG33).
- 3. Startup Patches and Channels in the Midi Settings Window.
-
- To setup your TG33 do the following:
-
- - Press the MULTI button so the TG33 can receive on more than one Midi
- channel at once ( commonly reffered to as "Multi-Timbral" mode )
- - Next go to UTILITY and cursor through until you come across MIDI
- - You should see PROG CHANGE = ON/OFF ; set to ON so Band-in-a-Box can
- change the sounds of your synth according to the Styles and Songs
- - Keeping 8 Midi Channels open for Band-in-a-Box is required within a Multi
- patch (each location can be assigned an instrument and Midi channel )
- - We reccomend using one Multi patch as your Band-in-a-Box working Patch
-
- Configure a Band-in-a-Box patch for the TG33 as follows:
-
- INST BANK MIDI CHANNEL
- ---- ---- ------------
- Bass P2 3
- Piano P2 2
- Drums P1 10
- Guitar P2 7
- Strings P2 6
- Melody P2 4
- Thru P2 5
-
- Use the Bank/Multi Channel buttons to select Midi channels for the
- various instruments. You'll be using the Factory Preset sounds; P2 for Piano,
- Bass,Guitar,Strings,Melody and Thru instruments and P1 for Drums. Use the
- cursor to change between I,P1 and P2 (Flashing square over top of the current
- selection).
- Once the parameters of your Multi patch have been setup, save the Multi
- as "BandBox" by pressing the page> button SIX times to get to the page of
- available characters for the patch name. To store the Multi patch: Press
- [Store/Copy] key from the Multi Play mode and select a memory location (1-16)
- using the bank multi channel keys. Press +1 . Select 'Yes'. "Are U Sure?"
- comes up; select 'YES'. The Multi Patch is now stored in the TG33's memory.
-
- Please note: DO NOT SEND PATCH CHANGES ON THE DRUMS FROM BAND-IN-A-BOX!
- Doing so will result in a pitched instrument receiving what are intended to
- be DRUMS.
-
- Ensure that the MIDI OUT of your computer is going to the MIDI IN of your
- synth and vice versa. Now load TG33.DK under the MIDI pulldown menu
- (Load Alternate Drum/Midi Set). That should be all that need be done to allow
- Band-in-a-Box to "talk" with your TG33. If by any chance we haven't covered
- everything on your particular synth, please consult your owners manual.
-
- Have Fun!
